Rounds 1 and 2 need to be oline and wide receiver if at all possible. I haven't got started on this class yet but my guess is WR rd1, OL rd2 will be the efficient way to do it. If they then must have their safety in round 3, fine.

A round 1 safety would not please me.

Honestly, a round 1 defensive player might send me into a rage.

How many times should a team draft running back after running back expecting results before realizing that perhaps RB isn't the actual problem.

If you're team has a great OL, even a practice squad RB can look good.

I tend to agree.  I don't mind having athletes on the line like Brown, but he needs to improve his technique to be slotted in as a starter.  What better way to force that than a new guy coming in trying to take his job?

Depending on the class, you could be looking at like 8th WR pick though.  I'm still open to BPA (with some limits - no TEs, no S's, no RBs, no QBs etc.)

True, but look at the amount of early round WRs last year. I’d take any of them right now. Christian Watson and George Pickens look like first round talents. Would anyone have cared if we took either of them as the 7th or 8th guy?

I was advocating for Watson. I didn't hate the Elam pick by any stretch.... but my top two targets were Andrew Booth (who was hurt, and after getting on the field a couple of times is hurt again so I appreciate the medicals may just not have checked out) and if not him Christian Watson.

And with Watson I knew it would take time. He had a slow start to the year. But his talent level is there and the last few weeks it has been visible. And Bills didn't need him to be great right away. We have Diggs, we have Gabe, they could have sprinkled Watson in this year. Let him really compete to be the #2 with Gabe next spring.

EDIT: in fairness I had Watson as (I think from memory) the #23 player on my board in any event. I don't care how many WRs had gone I didn't see him as a reach.

I wanted Breece Hall, an olineman, or a WR. We are flush with defensive talent and I argued that we could wait to get a DB on day 2 or 3. That just doesn’t seem to be the way with this staff. I just hope they finally do what needs done this off-season with a focus on offense.

Watson was intriguing to me, especially as Beane tends to draft traits.  6'5 with huge h ands and runs a sub 4.4 - and you can ease him in while working with Chad Hall and Diggs.

Shakir where we got him is still a nice value, and i wouldn't give up on the player.  I don't think he'll be the best in the class but he's a gamer.

I think Shakir is gonna be solid. I also don’t think he should preclude them from drafting a WR in rounds 1 or 2.

Agree. I had a late 3 on Shakir. I liked that pick. But he is a slot receiver. He might well be the starting slot for this team from next year... but he has some development needs as a separator and we have seen those on tape. Outside freaks like Watson are true high ceiling swings.

Oh not at all, just that even though they missed on some round 2 targets, i think they got a good value in the 5th.

I'd like a lineman in the 1st if possible.  I think RT could be upgraded, and in the 2-4 range they probably need at least 1, maybe 2 interior linemen.  Fix the run game, and keep your expensive QB investment healthy.

Christian Watson seemed designed in a lab for Josh Allen and our Front Office.. especially given their views on traits.

Oh well, at least we have Xavier Rhodes.

2021 we picked up 3 OL. you're acting like this is unheard of.

I know. That poster said a minimum. 3-4 OL is a lot for one draft, lol. Not to mention the fact that we'd likely only get to keep two after the rest are poached off the PS like Jack Anderson was.

I fully agree that WR and OL should be the top two priorities.

As I said here not long ago, I'd be fine with the whole offseason revolving entirely around upgrading the offense.

That said, if Edmunds is not re-signed, the Bills will have a massive hole at MLB, and you can damned sure bet they'll be forced to spend a premium pick to replace him.

Bills need OL help and a #2 WR.  You don't necessarily have to draft OL in the first, but I'd rather them spend that 1 on a WR.  They need talen opposite of Diggs.  Davis has proven he's more of a situational type player.  He's not a clear cut #2.

minimum of 3-4 OL in the same draft? Are you being cheeky?

If you draft 3, maybe 1 or 2 stick. If you can draft back to back DE's in the 2nd & 3rd round than Beane can put his foot down and do the same w/ OL.  Maybe another in the 6th or 7th?  Dead serious after watching Q nearly get Josh killed twice. Sorry but I'm protecting our #1 asset.

So, that's a maximum of 3-4...
