The WR claim is bonkers too.  Nobody on the Jets WR corp is better than Diggs.

Not yet but Wilson has potential. He looks like he will be a special player for them.

He may saying they have a better QB this time around. Meaning white is better than Wilson.

I think he means White is better than Allen which is comical.

Hey, as long as some fans on a message board are content...then it's worth it!!!

Got real serious after 13-seconds didn't it?

Got real serious when Josh got hurt this year, didn't it?

Then it was a lot of refreshing the browser to get answers.

Then McDermott knew to head the press conference off with details on that immediately didn't he?

Same with the Von Miller situation.

We're 9-3 and it's all rainbows again. But when we're 6-3 and have no #2 WR output, a question like what is Kahlil Shakir's role on the team, or Coach what are your feelings on the amount of play action in this offense, can potentially provide more insight than Ken, how do you spend your off days on this mini-bye.

Why does he mention RB, WR, RT. If he is comparing the Jets roster in this game vs their roster in the first game, then how are they better. Breece didn't play game 1 and he isn't playing Sunday. The WR's are the same as game 1. I don't remember if they have same OL then as now. It looks to me like he is comparing the Jets to the Bills but maybe I am wrong.

You have a great point. I just read it and assumed he was saying white is better than Wilson because who in their right mind would say he's better than Allen?  Maybe bad sentence structure. Maybe bad eyes. Maybe bad judgement. I'm thinking all of it.

Was such a pointless dive. Was never going to get him. Now he’s hurt. Hopefully he’s back next week.

Pulled a hammy chasing after Milano during a pick 6, and did this diving at Jones from 10 yards away with 2 min left in a 3 score game. He's gotta be better about protecting himself. DTs in particular are not built or conditioned to chase a guy 60 yards before launching at him

Because you get 8-minutes with the Head Coach.

4 of them are spent talking about Christmas, snow, staying up late and watching movies, what he ate for dinner.

At 7-9 nobody cares if a rotational DT misses games. At 9-3 coming off a game where the team you're playing ran it down your throat when they needed to, injuries are more important.

Generic feelings questions provide no insight to anything. Having Josh Allen explain why he loves Stefon Diggs as a person provides nothing to talk about tactically about the team.

You state feelings I have about many "news" programs these days.  I tune in and they're talking about Tom Brady's divorce or something instead of pressing world issues.

Here's the thing though: it must be remembered that like news programs today, all of these reporters are there to draw readership and listeners and clicks.

Just because you and I could not care less about McDermott's dog eating his donut and would like instead to know medical specifics of Jordan Phillips shoulder injury, the reporters and their editors/managers may have data showing that the majority of readers not only care about the dog and the donut, they want to know the breed of the dog, the flavor of the donut, and if the donut was chocolate did McD call the vet?

Same thing with Tom Brady's divorce.  If the watchers care about Tom Brady's divorce more than the state of the power grid in Ukraine, that's what we'll get.

Medical information is private.  If Dawkins chooses to disclose he's got a high ankle sprain, that's his biz.  But McDermott really shouldn't disclose Dion's medical information further than NFL injury reporting rules require, where "ankle" suffices.

As far as disclosing tactical info about the team, McDermott isn't there for that or to provide you with insight.  He's just "there so he doesn't get fined" so to speak.

agree 100%. But, if it hasn’t become painfully obvious over the last 2.5 years or so especially… the media’s job is to make money and drive clicks/eyeballs to their sites.  NOT ask the questions that they’re supposed to ask.

Except the daily injury report from each practice detailing participation level and body part effected, as well as a game status designation.

I'm not saying reporters need to badger McDermott for details, if he says week to week, fine, you don't need to ask "get more specific Coach, what does that mean, walk us through the oblique".

But it's okay to say, at this point is Phillips a week to week injury or potentially season ending, stop there, and let him answer.

This game is a great sports psychology study.  The Bills should bear the Jets at home fairly easily.  In the past several years the Bills have struggled being front runners. A win in this game is evidence they have overcome this psychological block.

What are you talking about? They have regularly beaten the snot out of teams.

OK, sure, if McDermott has not been asked "what's the timeline for Jordan Phillips return from this shoulder injury?" that's 100% fair game.

They'd probably hear "day to day" or something like that, but you never know, could hear actual information.

From a Jets fan...

The Jets have better QB, RB, WR, and RT this time and the defense has not changed much since last game so yes they should win! go JETS!

I'm pretty sure he's saying the Jets are better at those positions since the last time they played us. Mike White, Corey Davis, and Michael Carter did not play. Not sure that George Fant is really an upgrade at RT though.

Then it's chalk full of - Coach, why didn't you use a timeout there, what was the thinking on the 3rd-2, why didn't you take the Field Goal there, Josh what were you seeing on this play?

Maybe some Chalk Full o' Nuts coffee would give them the energy to ask the hard hitting questions?  For all in tents and purposes the media sessions are uninformative.

If he played the whole NE game with the injury I feel much better.  When did Phillips turn into such a glass cannon though?

Did you see the play he was injured on? Perhaps the most ungraceful shoulder injury ever. Then again, it’s hard to be graceful when that much mass is moving as fast as it can.

I thought Carter played in the first game. I forgot about Davis. The Bills have some starters back who didn't play in the first game as well. Hope Milano can play.

Carter played.
