Random Thoughts about the Mic'd up Segments

Since it's a Slow Bills Discussion Week lol

 

Of course, they're highly sanitized and we get a lot of "Don't Blink!" and "LetsGoooooo" and "Good *****"

 

But one of the things that surprises me is how talkative guys are.

 

In coverage, not this most recent segment but a previous segment, Poyer is yapping constantly at the guy he's covering - not trash talk, just "I'm here.  I'm right here.  I'm still here.  I'm right on your ass."  There's clearly a mind-game saying to the receiver "you didn't shake me, if you're targeted expect to get nailed"  Uses the guy's number so he doesn't mistake Po for trash-talking someone else.

 

Then how talkative the offensive players are in defense of one another.  Again, not trash talk, but Davis running full speed up to Diggs who was just tackled in the midst of a cloud of defenders saying as he arrives "Hey!  Hey hey hey hey hey I'm here, I'm right here, I'm here" then "I gotcha" to Diggs.    Again, a mind game saying to the DBs "if you want to start something with my man I'm right here to finish it"

 

Wonder what the language would be if they weren't miked up LOL

Interesting take, I watch those and am always surprised how little talking there is.  Sometimes there is a big play, a sack or TD and almost nothing.

You'll never get any real insight from them.

But I still love the videos and watch them every week.
