We cut Hodgins, then due to Kumerow on IR wound up playing 2 games with Tanner Gentry. Do you think Tanner Gentry is a better WR than Hodgins, Y or N? If we had Gentry on our active roster and cut him, do you think any team files a waiver claim, Y or N? I’m not saying Hodgins is a star WR, but in the context of the talent we have on our roster we were 1 injury away from an alternative of bringing in a guy off the street who hasn’t played since 2020 or signing Tanner Gentry to the active roster. In hindsight, I kind of feel keeping Hodgins on the roster would possibly have been a better move, But, we’ll see. It doesn't work that way. Hodgins was never going to stick on our active roster and we can't stop a team from signing him off our practice squad. Who do we cut to keep Hodgins on the active roster? Quote
BillsFanSD Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Guys, Isaiah Hodgins was never going to be a difference maker for us this year. If he was on our roster and we had to make him active for some reason, we'd be better off giving his touches to Cook and probably Shakir. He's a JAG. Quote

But I was responding to someone who said he was claimed before he could be called up here. My point wasn’t that Hodgins was a good WR, it’s that because he was cut and claimed off waivers, we wound up pounding the streets Quote

hemma Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Hodgins catches the ball. Not a small point, but many here overlooked. 1 Quote

Not that they did not have talent at positions, but they never seemed to have a team on the same page with a solid game plan. They have a better HC who has cleaned up a lot of the self-inflicted nonsense, got them on the same page, and they play hard for him. Good for them. 2 Quote

Statistically a turnover or an injury is more likely to happen in that situation. 1 Quote
Special K Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Vikings need to score a TD on this drive, and end the game. Quote
RiotAct Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 smh @ Cousins. Someone needs to convince him he’s playing the Bills right now. 1 Quote
HappyDays Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 Wow AJ Brown. Still no clue why the Titans traded him away but thank God they did. 1 Quote

I was thinking Baylon Spector but that’s just me - do you think he would have been swiped onto another roster? I guess also I’d have to look at where we were with injuries when Hodgins was cut to see if that would make sense. Again, it’s not that I think Hodgins is a total gem, it’s just that once a team has 2 receivers injured (one on IR) it may be time to conserve receivers. Quinnen Williams is a legit beast Quote
Fallser Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 It looks like the Jets are who we thought they were (trash) - can’t believe we lost to those 🤡 🤡. Quote

He's played 60% of our special teams snaps and was a draft pick from this year. Zero chance we were risking him on waivers. I believe Hodgins was waived when Kumerow was back healthy, by the time he got injured again Hodgins was already gone. I'm sure the Bills would like to have him as a call-up option but if we're down to Isaiah Hodgins taking offensive snaps on this roster things have gotten really out of hand. I'm not even remotely worried about it. Edited December 4, 2022 by HappyDays Quote
