Just popping in to say WTF are the Bengals thinking 4th and inches and not just falling forward for the 1st down? They try an end around? That's really incompetent. I thought they were one of those we like analytics teams? QB sneak in that situation is almost a gimme

Most games come down to a few points. You take the points until you're forced to play aggressive. I feel like this is an easy philosophy that every coach now flubs.

I think the superbowl champ eagles are the team that changed common thinking on this subject.

Going for it on fourth down and not making it isn’t the end of the world.

It lets the players know the staff is ALL in

Yeah well this year I've seen the Jags lose at least 2 games because Doug Pederson was needlessly aggressive on 4th down.

Mahomes slides where Josh would keep trucking.

And I would generally have no problem if Josh could be persuaded to slide moire

OK, Bengals, deep breath, go down and retake the lead

Should be a tie game, instead the Bengals are playing catch up. Take the freaking points. This has become my crusade.

You have to go for it. It was 4th and half a yard. It's not even a question....

Terrible play calling.

I hear ya.  I’d coach NFL the old fashioned way. Don’t blow off the easy FG in a close game until you have to.  Coaches are intoxicated with going for it or trying for two when it’s not necessary at that point in the game.

No you don't. The Chiefs have a good interior DL and their offense isn't totally unstoppable. Instead of risking everything on your bad OL just take the points and play the game out from there. There are times to be aggressive, but playing a team on your level at your stadium and still in the 1st half is not that time.

I’ve certainly been frustrated by a couple games where the Bills went for it and in hindsight, they could have won if they took the points
