Mac Jones Intentional Grounding - Should it have been a safety?

In all honesty, grounding was only smart, correct Mac play made all night. I couldn’t believe he got it out, as Safety is my fav play in football.

I called it a 1 in 100,000 play.  I also said it was the right call, but Jones was falling backwards into the endzone and yes his ass would have been in the endzone on the ground.  

 

Heck I'm not sure he was even touched and was tripping over his own feet.

 

To me it this was just such a unique play.

Do you have the same feeling about Josh Allen throwing the td to Davis as he his momentum was taking him out of bounds? According to what you're saying that td pass should not have counted either because "yes he threw the ball while he was in bounds" but he was clearly going out of bounds...you cannot have it both ways

Doesn't make any sense. It's where they are on the field , not where they might be later on.

Yes his feet were in the field of play but to me that should have been called a safety as the play if completed would have been a sack in the endzone.

No. It isn't a safety because it isn't a safety.
