Chilly Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 First sentence I saw was ""There are over 200 small wineries in New York and it's extremely important they have the ability to mail their products to anyone who is not a minor who wants them," Kuhl said." and I thought he said weiners, not wineries. lol.
grapefarmerinsc Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 NYS will do the right thing (lol) ... anything to help small busines (LOL,LOL) The lobby for big alcohol must be paying more than they figure they can make up in taxes . It's all about the benjamins
UConn James Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 ...come in the wake of Monday's U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning New York's law that prohibits shipment of New York wine to out-of-state consumers. Doesn't this mean that wine producers can just start shipping? The law was ruled unconstitutional/illegal in terms of interstate commerce. I would think it's immediately stricken from the books. How can a company verify age by Internet or mail tho? Are there services that do that? I'm a little miffed by that. They need to tread carefully b/c shipping to a minor can shut them down...
