loyal2dagame Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Interesting perspective from the victims https://www.espn.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/37646/art-of-the-qb-leap-how-bills-josh-allen-brings-backyard-style-to-the-nfl 2 1 1 2 Quote
K D Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Interesting quote here by Josh: “Believe it or not, really the only thing that's going through my head is don't get hit." So his instinct is to jump to avoid getting hit. I guess it makes sense if you consider that by sliding he might be putting himself in an unfavorable position to take a cheap shot to the head. Interesting take that I had not previously considered Quote
RyanC883 Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 this is a great read. Thanks for sharing! Good stuff all around from LB Barr, and Bills OL Queensberry's re: the impact it has on the Bills players. Quote
WotAGuy Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 It’s becoming a thing now. Seeing it more and more in the recent NFL and college games. Quote
Chaos Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 The first NFL hurdle made Diggs want to be a Bill. Single most consequential POSITIVE play in franchise history. 2 Quote

I guess his split second thought process is this guy is going low so I have to go high. Makes sense if you think about it like that but still a dangerous play that could put him in a vulnerable position 1 Quote
DaggersEOD Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Well if those D players, expecting a hurtle, try to go high to take Josh down, they’ll probably just get trucked. 1 Quote
wjag Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 He has slid on 6 of 81 rushes for a staggering 7% of the time.. 2 Quote

The Wiz Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 “I didn’t even really go low on him either, which is the craziest part” - Barr You can easily see it in the reply. Allen just jumped like 7 ft in the air on that play. It was unreal. Quote

Theres a college play i saw where dude landed on his head, the back of his head touched his upper back it was so ugly. Literally looked like paralysis if itd been me. Dude got up went to sideline, was absolutely fine lol!!! I dont think these expose him to more injury than other plays, and I doubt theres any real conscious decision to do it. Probably feels like being on his very own Josh Allen ride, "look at me im in the air" lol Quote
LVGrown Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 Yep. I'm flying through the air. This is not a good thing. I legit appreciate JA's ability to quote epic movie lines at the drop of a dime. Quote

You still have to go low to tackle him as a db/ smaller linebacker so knowing he likes to hurdle doesn’t really change a whole lot. Quote
