Greg Cossell not pulling any punches on Bills: "This is not a super talented offense"

Tonight's game didn't put this take to bed. The whole offense is just Allen and Diggs. Even a lot of the run yards we get are because of how defenses play us to limit Allen and Diggs. An elite QB plus an elite WR is enough to create an elite offense. But we could definitely use more.

Davis didn't really do enough to claw out of the doghouse but for another game McKenzie has been playing well.

What was the rushing stats? Carries by whom?  Anyone with a brain is going to defend 17, pass or throw…At least try. Cook and Devin did their job despite the O lines efforts

I’m not sure that’s true from strictly just what I saw tonight…Allen hit diggs quite a few times when there were other available targets.

also…isn’t the point of Allen and diggs to make defenses play us differently because of Allen and diggs lol

I thought Davis lost the ball on his deep attempt also.

McKenzie is starting to look more comfortable out there, or maybe Josh is starting to feel comfortable with him.

McKenzie is fine but he is not "super talented" or even above average. I think most championship offenses have the elite QB plus two top tier offensive weapons. We're missing one piece to really put us over the top IMO.

The running game is coming around much like it did last year. We need a TRUE WR2

Perhaps. Also, may have been uncatchable as well as it looked to go pretty far to the sideline. It definitely should have been thrown with more air under it and in front of Davis. Poor throw that Allen would have liked to have back.

Offense looked extremely efficient against the #1 defense according to DVOA.

Those easy yards have been there all year. We just haven't taken them. I think the Titans and Steelers games might have broken Dorsey's brain. He now thinks that if we're up by 14 points we must go up by 21 points within 3 plays or he failed. He removed his head from his posterior at halftime tonight and got us back on track taking the free yards. Hopefully this is a permanent change. Football doesn't have to be that complicated.

Agree it didn't. But they do just need to trust Knox and McKenzie more. They are open. Throw them the ball. That third down when Josh hit Stef and he made an incredible catch while being interfered with is an example. They didn't need Stef to make an incredible catch there because Knox was wiiiiideee open for an easy first.

We only have one reliable, do it all, can beat good corners in the clutch superstar and that is Diggs and if we lost him the offense would majorly suffer. But they do have enough to take a bit off his plate and they have started to get to that the ladt 3 weeks with one big game for Knox then two decent games from Isaiah. They are open. Use them and matriculate the ball.

Improving the talent on offense is an offseason priority. Line and receivers. But until then we have to use the guys we have. They are not stiffs. They can play.

Interesting thoughts here on the Ross Tucker podcast from NFL insider Greg Cossell. Basically stating the obvious with JA17 being surrounded by a bad oline not much else outside of Diggs:

Cossell. It’s the son of Howard Cosell, nitwit.

I mean compared to a team like the Bengals with 2 legit #1 WRs and a great slot receiver in Chase, Higgins, and Boyd and having Joe Mixon at RB, yeah probably don't have THAT level of talent...

But let's look at KC... outside of Kelce, who are you taking over what we have man for man?

Plenty of people on Chief boards are saying they would trade the entire group of skill position players with the Bills in a heartbeat.

I listen to him a lot when he meets with Tasker and Brown a lot of weeks. I think he's pretty sharp and him saying our o-line is decent but not great and we've been relying too much on Josh being Superman is not wrong. He still likes the Bills but he's saying the offense as a whole is not super talented — at the moment. If we use Knox more and Cook continues to ascend, perhaps he, and others, will change that opinion. But I think it's accurate for the last several games.

Listen to him; he's pretty good and fair.

T*m Brady won Super Bowls with less talent on offense.

That required cheating which should not be a surprise.
