Big Turk Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 I don't know if I have ever seen this before...the Seahawks player runs out on the field to block after they intercept Carr. Apparently if this would have been a pick 6, it would have counted since turnovers are automatically reviewed just like scoring plays are? Just an egregious miss by both on field and NFL officials. How is it possible to miss a guy running off the bench right in view of the camera?? 2 21 Quote
CSBill Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 That is hilarious. And it makes me wonder how often it happens and doesn’t get noticed? 3 Quote
Process Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Honestly that's hilarious. And to be fair, I could see how it could be easily missed by the refs live....it's not not like they are sitting watching with a bird's eye view like we are. 1 3 Quote
Saxum Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 I guess once the play was going on no one noticed it unlike a coach who should have been suspended for a year for tripping a player on the field. 1 Quote
Jauronimo Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 I'm just wondering what he was thinking. Was he running onto the field to celebrate and then realized his teammate wasn't down and tried to blend in? Is Carroll coaching players to do this since no one is watching? Did he just lose his mind? 5 3 Quote

3rdnlng Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 The officials count the players on the field before the snap but what with all of the movement after the snap it would be difficult to throw a flag unless an official actually sees a player enter the field of play during the action. Quote
Charles Romes Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 Maybe it was an offensive player who thought he could jump in because possession changed. It a spin on the shift change in hockey where the refs look the other way if there is a little overlap. Quote
Mikie2times Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 He was running out to celebrate. He ran on the field when the player was down on the ground, but not ruled down. Up until NFL, he is down. Shocked this hasn't happened more. I think when he realized he was on the field he chose the second pill instead of the first. 1 2 Quote

Did he just lose his mind? Almost certain this was it. He thought his guy was down by contact since he was on the ground, and then he thought his defensive teammates were celebrating and running toward the sideline, so he just ran out in excitement to greet them. You can see him hesitate for a split second when he's on the field, like, "oh F*#!", before continuing to block, lol. 1 Quote
KHAN Posted November 28, 2022 Posted November 28, 2022 lol. Yep. Definitely thought his guy was down by contact. Oops. Quote

MarkyMannn Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 (edited) Somewhere Belichek is jealous that he never thought of this. But honestly in all my years of watching football, never seen anything like this. Funny Edited November 29, 2022 by MarkyMannn Quote

Did he just lose his mind? This is definitely what happened. He ran out on the field thinking the play was dead and didn't realize it was still going. It looked like he was down by contact from the bench on the INT, but it wasn't. Once he was on the field you can tell he didn't know what to do. Quote
Big Blitz Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 Could have used that extra guy to run on the field and tackle Josh Jacobs on his 86 yard TD that could potentially end my season. 2 Quote

Didn't they fire that coach? 2 minutes ago, Big Blitz said: Could have used that extra guy to run on the field and tackle Josh Jacobs on his 86 yard TD that could potentially end my season. Honestly what would have happened if a player actually did that? Would the team be awarded a TD due to an "unfair act"? 1 Quote
