Elam apparently had excellent game against Detroit...bodes well for stretch run

Via those who watched the All-22, claim that Elam blanketed his receivers and that he was only thrown at once and forced an incompletion on the pass.

This bodes really well, now we need to figure out where the weak link is and address it. Our pass D has been really bad lately. Must be causing McD and Frazier sleepless nights, it's their specialty.

Really need White to get back to somewhere near his AP level

Probably won't happen until sometime mid season next year.

Our pass D will improve when we get Edmonds back. As for Elam, it is about the time in the season when rookie DBs tend to "figure it out."

I am an Elam fan and think he has had a mostly good rookie year, but he only played 21 snaps on Thursday as he was eased back in. I didn't actually see him targeted but I might have been serving up the mashed potato at that point :D

White, Elam, Rhodes. Lets go

Taron Johnson has appeared to be shaky much more than I remember this year in pass coverage it seems...

Wonder if it was because they played more man on Thanksgiving? That seems to be his jam.

Good call. That might also explain Dane’s struggles.

Taron Johnson and Dane Jackson have both been big liabilities in pass coverage.

As much as I want to give credit for Jackson being right up with his guy (something Levi Wallace continually struggled with), he never seems to make a play on the ball.  Jackson is on a lot of receivers highlight reels right now, and it doesn't bode well to me. Get him off the field as soon as White is full go.

They’ve been blitzing more which is leading to some guys being matched up in man to man on the backend which isn’t the strengths of Johnson/Jackson

Why not?

Adrian Peterson won an NFL MVP the following season after having his ACL and MCL torn 10 months prior to that season starting.

Let’s pretend that every human on earth is equal.

Using one player who displayed super human recovery ability and is a massive outlier as your baseline for what should be expected is pretty ridiculous.

No, it really isn’t. It was 10 years ago and rehabilitation methods are even better now than they were then.

Peterson was also a much larger human being so more torque would have been absorbed by his knee on cuts.
