In 2014 I think that’s what they did.

They’re gonna have to.  I like the snow - I’ve lived here all my life - there’s no way these guys are getting out by car before tomorrow night.  No way.  The bills either dig each of these  guys out or they move them in snowmobiles.  It’s nuts.  Snowvember is the only similar situation I can think of.

If the Bills have issues getting out of Buffalo the NFL may have no choice but to move the game to Monday Night and move the Thanksgiving Day game to Friday or Sunday.

I think the Detroit Thanksgiving game is in stone, in that time slot.  It’s been that way for decades and would be a logistical headache to change it.  Also it’s a Lions home game, and they’ve sold tickets for that day.  There’s really no reason to mess up another teams schedule.

If they have to reschedule any game i think it will be this Bills/Browns game.  and if it can’t be played by 1pm or by Sunday night they will find a way to fit it in another week.

Hopefully all the players can get safely out of their homes and to the airport and avoid all this.   but what about equipment trucks, etc?

Josina Anderson of CBS Sports spoke to an NFL source who expressed concern that the Bills may not even be able to fly out of Buffalo.

“Snow is coming down hard right now,” the source told Anderson. “I don’t know what’s the contingency if everyone can’t make it to the airport or we can’t fly out.”

What a mess. I guess they must have had their reasons for waiting - it doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense, though.

It will be a relief to hear that they made it safely to Detroit.  Here's hoping for the best.

The plan is to fly out of Buffalo airport tomorrow (Saturday) in the AM.

I don't think it's a big deal, but people here seem to like trying to make it a big deal.

so it will be a nice clear day tomorrow am, roads all clear and travel bans lifted and they'll be on their merry way.

I guess a bunch of us knew better than Beane and McD to get outta there yesterday after the announcement.  Oh well, can’t change it.

I’ll be amazed if all these players and staff can get out tomorrow. And i agree the game will probably have to be moved to Sunday night.  Maybe the compressed week will force the Bills to hunker down in Detroit until Thursday.  It’s bad enough they literally aren’t practicing leading up to this Cleveland game.

What a mess.

It just seems like common sense. The county is putting a driving ban on, NY issued a state of emergency, the league moved the game, snow is starting to come down from the sky last night. How many clues does an org need?

If the Bills don't make it to the game on time I could see a forfeit imposed.

Saw on The Weather Channel a few mins ago that around 8pm the highest recorded snow total so far in WNY is none other than the home of the Buffalo Bills, Orchard Park with 66”.  Next closest is Hamburg with 54”

Maybe they were thinking the players would want to make sure their families were all ok during the storm?

Open air has nothing to do with it.  There would be no way to get to the stadium if it was a dome.  There is that much snow.

I think what he is getting at is all that snow sitting on everything in the stadium cant be good for its longevity so there would be increased maintenance costs for the life of the stadium.
