That team wouldnt even exist without Ralph Wilson bailing them out back in the day.  I doubt they are that cash poor but I also dont think they want to be paying two coaches that no longer work for them.  Pretty stupid hire to begin with.  McDaniels choked in Denver then followed that up with screwing over the Colts and the crew he hired to coach with him.  Why would anyone think its a good hire.  SMH.

Another franchise that Ralph bailed out later had an owner who claimed to be a fan of the team for his whole life before he bought them. You’d think that new owner would appreciate Ralph.  Instead, he actively spit on Ralph’s grave by trying to get his friend Jon Bon Jersey to buy the Bills and move them out of Buffalo.  At least the Davis’ aren’t on that level of reprobate.

This can't be true. The TV revenue plus the new stadium makes a lot of money. The league makes around 20 billion a year. This has to be BS.

If cash issues are still a problem for the Raiders (and they probably are), they stem from their time in Oakland when they had the lowest revenues of any team. The move to LV was meant to rectify that - and it will - but it’s possible that they have not been there long enough to build up cash reserves. Paying out Gruden certainly was a hit to them, plus guarantees for Adams, Carr, Jones, etc. Remember that fully guaranteed money in NFL contracts has to be escrowed at time of signing. That was why they could not keep Khalil Mack when they were in Oakland.

I mean, they also owe tons of money on the new stadium, owed tons of guaranteed money to Gruden, and have lots of other expenses.  Yes, lots of revenue sources for each team in the league, but doesn’t mean expenses far outweigh revenue and is putting the Raiders in a cash poor position.

That pays for player salaries year to year but owners still need to have cash up front for all the signing bonuses being paid. 

 

If they have been paying out a lot in signing bonuses it is entirely possible he is strapped for cash.

So guaranteed money in contracts has to be put in escrow. They signed carr, Adam’s and chandler jones to 150 mil guaranteed so along with the stadium money  and gruden money they’re probably cash poor for a while.

TV money covers players salaries.  Gate/ local revenue covers the operational costs.  Sure having to pay out $30M at once coukd make team budget a little tight.
