extrahammer Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 (edited) With some of the fan discussion about McD, curious at this point how many would support going after a Sean Payton. Edited November 14, 2022 by extrahammer Quote
Big Turk Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 (edited) No. He had 3 straight 7-9 seasons with Brees as his QB too. The overreactions on this board are comical. Edited November 14, 2022 by Big Turk 5 2 3 15 2 7 Quote

Ethan in Cleveland Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 I'd prefer Lincoln Riley or Jim Harbaugh but would be fine with Payton. 2 Quote

Mr. WEO Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Is there enough vicodin in OBD to lure him in?? 3 Quote
Greg S Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 No to Payton but if Bill were to step down as HC of the Pats, I would throw a boatload of money at him to come Buffalo if I were TP. We all know what Bill can do with a franchise QB. This is all meaningless anyway. McDermott and Beane for that matter aren't going anywhere. Even if this season ends up being a disappointment, they will be given another season to fix it. 1 5 1 Quote

Not only that. Brees was throwing for 5,000 yards in those seasons. He had elite QB play and was still having losing seasons. Way worse than anything McDermott has done. He had one of the best QB's in NFL history and continually choked in the playoffs. He won one ring. 1 1 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Does he lose games? I want a coach that never loses a game. 2 10 1 Quote
Roundybout Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 People whine about McD when Payton won one Super Bowl with prime Brees and had a bunch of losing seasons, plus Bountygate. 3 Quote
McBean Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 1. Jim Harbaugh 2. Eric Bieniemy 3. Sean Payton 1 1 Quote

How many years? This is already year 5, 4 of which productive, 3 superstar prime years. So are you okay wasting 4 prime years? 5? 1 2 Quote
TheBeaneBandit Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 In a perfect world I would love a great offensive mind as head coach with McDermott replacing Frasier as D coordinator. But we all know it could never shake out that way 1 Quote

Bob in STL Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 No. You stay the course for the season. Stability is the better option. Forcing McD out just might piss off Beane too. I don't trust Pegula to strike gold twice. That said, I am questioning the work of Dorsey right now as I see Allen's game management and decision-making regressing and I see no run game. Both of these things are on Dorsey, not McD. 1 6 1 Quote

Only Terry can answer that. It's not just McDermott as Beane also needs to share the blame. We are one of the worst teams in short yardage situations. We rely on Josh to do too much because we don't have a great run game. Beane has been the GM for 5 years now and the OL is still a problem. 2 Quote
