In this tweet thread about 4 down John Wawrow hints at possible internal issues with the Bills.

I respect John Wawrow as an excellent journalist, but I don't respect this style of journalism.

If Wawrow has a story, he tell it.  If he's restricted from telling it because it doesn't meet APs standard for verification or was told to him in confidence, off the record, that confidence/off the record promise should not be flirted with on the Twitterverse.

Edit: Mea Culpa, should have done first.  Having read his whole thread, I think it's more open and less hinty at deep dark secrets

The issue that can be seen from thousands of miles away is just this: the QB is not taking what the defense is giving him, he is not spreading the ball around and involving players who are busting their asses to get open play after play - and who then face press and public criticism for "not contributing".  There aren't necessarily enough adjustments to the adjustments the opponent makes.  But more critically, the QB is just not taking care of the ball.  He's going for the kill shot when he has time, and the underneath stuff that would move the chains is there.

How much of this is on McDermott and how much on Dorsey, or whether it's just having made him a $258 million man, he's become "above criticism" in the facility, I don't know.

I think it's an educated guess that the internal issues relate to this.

There’s been a lot of changes around JA - Brian Daboll and assistant quarterbacks coach Tierney went to NYG along with Webb.  We transferred OC responsibilities to Dorsey and added Brady.

As far as the team goes you have  to think there was a Dabol camp and a McD camp.  Some of this division could be spilling over into this season.

At the same time he does have a penchant for sensationalism.  Watch the press conferences- he’s always the one trying to drum up some controversy.

I can never hear the damned questions being asked at the press conferences, let alone figure out if they're drumming up controversy.

But it is a reporter's job to look for controversy and issues.

McDermott hired beane, not the other way around.

Beane isn’t the problem…it’s McD. He’s the one that wilts under pressure. Not the other way around…

At some point Terry and Kim need to ask themselves: How much of Josh Allen’s career are you willing to spend whole McDermott figuring out how to manage in-game situations?

How in the world do you blame a fumbled snap and a game losing INT on McDermott?

At some point you have to ask yourself, how much of Allen's career are you going to crusade against McDermott?

It’s probably hard to articulate perfectly but I want the Texans loss 19 Bills offense with THIS josh Allen and these WRs. I want the 240 yard passing josh and don’t kill us with the magic of him being more polished. I want that balance and these WRs. I’m so tired of this Covid season throw it like you are “hay day” Drew Brees. Christ, reign it in. We aren’t an indoor dome team with an all time passer

He's likely already removed the Bills from his list after the last 3 games...

why? packers, cowboys, rams have looked worse than us the last few weeks. and if anything, we need weapons on offense - if anything, our stock for him is rising, as would/should our offersheet.

John Wawrow is the most negative person in Buffalo. Nothing good or positive ever said. He is a ball of negativity and an angry person. Put him in the same bucket 🪣  with Mike Florio. Miserable people.

The fact the Bills are on a TWO game losing skid is very concerning. And if there are issues and internal squabbles and disagreements that would surprise me zero. It is healthier to vent and voice things than to simmer and fester unsaid. These men are Professionals and high achievers. Do they take losing lightly?

NOPE nor should they. NFL= Not For Long. Get healthier and things will be better. As far as #17 and his decisions lately I hope he listens to the vets around him and stay OFF social media.

BUT as professionals and as transparent as what I hear and read spoken from 1BD we surely don't know everything being said behind th scenes.. Who is calling out who?

It reads that JW is reputable but this kind of tweet alluding to trouble could also be interpreted as clickbait for the disgruntled

*shrugs*

That's right they lost that midweek tilt at Fulham.

Who gaf

Personally I could not give two ***** about the players and coaches interpersonal relationships that McDermott and Co try to push out via Bills media and PR

Rams won a Super Bowl with Jalen Ramsey punching teammates in the head on national TV. Just win the ***** games

It has been reported for a while now (but often swept under the rug) that McDermott has a bit of a dark side.

Remember when he lost his (bleep) and cussed out one of the reporters on the practice field because of a report he didn’t like? Or when he suspended Chris Brown (the biggest Bills homer on the planet) from the facility for multiple weeks because he said the wrong thing on the radio? And then there was the note in the Flores lawsuit that talked about how Daboll wanted out of Buffalo, even if it was NOT for a head coach job?

When you have that smoke, it becomes

implausible that there is no fire.

You are getting carried away with something of little import, IMO.    All the great coaches have had a "bit of a dark side".

The issue with McDermott is simply that he has a hard time getting his team focused in the dog days of the season.    Happens every year.

The roster is what it is............it's good but it's good at a great investment and after a lot of trial and error...........ultimately they still go as Josh Allen goes and right now he is playing like a guy whose head is somewhere else.   Not seeing the field and making bad decisions.

Even that first year. We got blown out like 3

weeks in a row after starting out 5-2 right?
