Jeff Wilson had over 100 yards rushing for the Dolphins yesterday! Is our playbook written in Latin? It's inexcusable not to use the weapon that we traded for. Zero touches on offense, less than freaking Duke Johnson, is just crazy, especially since we were up by 2 possessions for a large portion of the game. That's where you lean on the running game. No way Beane traded for him just to be a punt returner.

Don't forget Kadarius Tony. He had 4 catches on 5 targets for 57 yards and a TD.

4th and 2 and you have Duke Johnson on the field, is mind boggling. You brought in this RB to be a mismatch to LBs and even on that last play of the game, Singletary is the RB out there on a pass play. Where are the mismatches?

Hines was on the field yesterday for 6 plays, and didn't see the ball one time. Duke Johnson was one the field 5 times and saw the ball 2 times. Make it make sense.

Because this coaching staff slow plays everything, often to the detriment of the team. They slow play injuries, rookie playing time, obvious necessary roster changes, etc. It took them a whole season and a half of Zack Moss clumsily running into his lineman's butt before they recognized that he isn't a viable player. They've given Shakir very little playing time despite obviously being more dependable than McKenzie. Currently they're limiting Cook's snaps in favor of Singletary even though it has become obvious over the last two weeks that he gives our offense more juice.

And yes the latest slow play is keeping Hines out of the offense, even though it is obvious that we need more speed out of our backfield. This is presumably because... they don't think he knows the playbook well enough yet? That's the only possible reason I can imagine, and personally I think it's stupid. Every other top offense has someone that can catch the ball 5 yards past the LOS and turn it into a 20+ yard gain. That element of our offense has never been a thing in the Josh Allen era, so Beane goes and gets that element and the coaches refuse to use him. Really frustrating.

this is the story here.

our FO is conservative in how it makes adjustments.  they will change to "be aggressive" and just go for it willy nilly in the redzone, but when it falls apart (like this season) they are too slow to adjust that overly aggressive nature on O.  on D, they never get out of nickel, and most of all as per above they are sooo slow to change player time.  hines did look pretty slick the one time he got the ball vs minni, but we decided a 3 score lead is a great time to not have RBs involved in the game.

We acquired Nyheim Hines two weeks ago and it was universally praised as a great addition to our team because of his experience and ability. Yet, here we are two games in and he has just TWO TOTAL TARGETS!!!

Meanwhile, the 49ers acquire Christian McCaffery from the Panthers and he has made an IMMEDIATE impact. They actually *gulp* GET HIM TOUCHES AND UTILIZE HIM ON OFFENSE!!!

I feel as if this is an utter failure by the Bills to take advantage of the skills of a player that they obviously coveted as Beane said in an interview that he had wanted him in Buffalo before. I do not know if it is McDermott or Dorsey, but someone has to answer for what I feel is a criminal underuse of a talent we so badly need. Two targets through two games is pathetic!

What's it matter if it's Hines or the other 2? They're like coffee cups. Interchangeable. Hines has to learn a little language is my guess. Then Allen will outrush 3 of them.

It feels like our guys think they are smarter than everyone else.
We will surprise them with Duke Johnson . Let’s throw to Gilliam instead of Diggs. 1st at the 2 let’s throw it 4 straight plays. You have one receiver on your like Jefferson we will go man with shut down corner benford.

trade for Hines and then elevate Duke from PS and give him more touches not sure i understand that at all

These are questions McD needs to answer…. None of this makes since.

Bills RBs should have had 30 touches yesterday being up 17. Nope Duke in on goal line plays and throwing interceptions.

To be accurate, he did have one catch for 9 yards (spin move that turned a 4 yard gain into 9) and he looks very reliable returning punts with an explosiveness we haven't seen in a while. I agree that I'm dumbfounded why we're not passing to him more or have him on the field more often on 3rd down??

To be fair, Wilson is already familiar with McDaniels' system (49ers connection).

But yes, there is zero reason to NOT have a package of plays for Hines to work in.  Buffalo has become the place that RBs go to die (Yeldon, Breida, Duke Johnson).  If I were a free agent RB I'd never sign here.

That's fair, but McCaffrey and Toney are producing for their new teams. The difference is those teams have specifically game planned to get their new weapons involved. For some reason we refuse to do it.

Other than terminology changes, he played under mcdaniel for his entire career prior to this year.

Hines is a situational only type of player on any NFL team he's going to play for. That's it. Simple reality of it. He's a better fit for our offensive style than Zack Moss was, and we didn't pay much for him.

The problem is the misinterpretation of the trade and somehow equating and comparing it to a CMC type of trade. Hines is a bakup rb who has great speed and quickness and can play some slot wr, and return punts well.

It was a fine trade for what it really was, and hopefully Hines will earn his way to 10-12 snaps per game and making a play here and there.

If I'm Beane I'm seriously pissed. Hines has skills and we're wasting him because these terrified coaches think he needs 3 weeks to learn the book. Maybe Marlowe knocks that ball down rather than Cam selfishly going for the pick.

Jeff Wilson isn’t really a fair comparison cuz he already pretty much knew the offense coming from SF
