And even if they do take a T.O., so what? What says Josh still doesn't force that ball? To calm Josh down and to work the ball towards the end zone not throw it from beyond the 20 we had plenty of time. Josh, acting like he only had 10 seconds left not over a minute. Why was he saving it? It’s not like we were going back on defense. You're right. A lot of the red zone issues come from poor situational awareness and that can be addressed with better communication. It also begins in practice and film sessions and carries into game day on the field. This worked better the last couple of seasons. It needs to be fixed starting at the top. 1 Quote

Same thing he's been doing since the bye. even if we did take a T.O. there's nothing saying he still doesn't go out there and force the bad ball. Edited November 14, 2022 by Billz4ever Quote

It’s called planning and coaching getting on the same page with your receivers. Quote
Success Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Someone on the thread might have said it - but I saw that after we were up 17, we ran 3x. And the series that led up to the 4th and 2 pick was just awful. Dorsey has been solid this season - but he hasn't been spectacular, and today's decisions warrant scrutiny. It was too "cute" by a mile. Quote
st pete gogolak Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 Defense needs either Hyde (obviously he won't be there) or Poyer back there. It's a big problem when they are both out. It's kind of crazy but I keep thinking the season turned during a win. Leading GB 27 - 10, Cook carries it down to the GB 3. Second and goal. Run it twice and kick the FG or run it three times and score a TD or pin GB deep. Instead, incompletion , then Interception. GB makes it tiny bit of a nailbiter. Same type of thing happened over and over today. Refusal to run on second and short or third and short or when we did, couldn't make a yard or two. Aren't going to win a Super Bowl if you can't gain a yard or two on the ground when you need it. Oh, yeah Dorsey's play-calling is awful. Quote

I don't want to hear blame on Frazier, Dorsey, McDermott, Gabe, Knox, Edmunds, etc etc etc... you know, all the usual shifting of blame. We had every opportunity to win it, and at each turn, Josh made costly mistakes. That simple, regardless of ANYTHING else. We're lucky the Packers were so bad, otherwise it'd be a 3 game losing skid, all with multiple INT games from Allen. Dorsey didn't control, Singletary fumble, diggs drop off his chest, josh fumbled snap, josh 2 end zone int, both ints rbs were wide open for easy dump off, Singletary making the bad cuts missing massive gains, josh still refusing to hit Knox across the middle regularly.. just to name a few. Marvin Posted November 14, 2022 Posted November 14, 2022 (edited) I think that the root of a lot of the problems with play calling and execution starts at the offencive line. They have problems in both run and pass blocking. The inconsistent-at-best run blocking causes Dorsey to seemingly abandon the run. And when Allen has time, he often looks like he's surprised by the fact and hurries anyway. To my eyes, he has been hurrying throws more frequently each week -- often unnecessarily -- because he does not trust the line. IMHO, when you are up 2 scores in the 4th quarter, you need to be like the early 1990's Bills: take all your time, line up while showing which running play you will execute, execute that play, and inexorably march down the field for another score while chewing up clock and demoralising the opposition. This team can't do that because of a bad offencive line -- which is why 3 score leads are not safe. Edited November 14, 2022 by Marvin Grammar. 1 Quote
CEN-CAL17 Posted November 20, 2022 Author Posted November 20, 2022 How’s the play calling this far in today game???? Quote
CEN-CAL17 Posted November 20, 2022 Author Posted November 20, 2022 I can’t wait to hear the excuses of why this offense can’t move the ball!!!!!!!!! Quote
Maine-iac Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 2 rb carries all first half pretty much says just meet at the QB and you can stop this offense. OMG ..........a running play. Quote
Eastport bills Posted November 20, 2022 Posted November 20, 2022 The play calling is not good enough to beat a good defense. Josh is going to have to pull this game out of his rear end. Where is Hines. 3 games and he’s returning kicks. Sean and his offensive staff are somewhat lacking. Josh looks like he’s having problems throwing accurately. Nervous times. Quote

It’s ridiculous at this point. Whatever comes out of McDs mouth in regards to why he’s not get RB snaps is BS Quote
