After six plus years of attacking anyone who disagreed with your opinion. I take umbrage, Sir! I agree with people on this forum all the time. But this little tiff has gone on long enough. It's time for the adults in the room to come together and make a deal.

It's time to end this. Get the grown-ups in a room and work this out. This is democracy in action, friend! It will get worked out, one way or the other. 1

Tiberius Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 The House can't conduct any business until after they have elected a speaker
Tiberius Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 That looks like it's three ballots done, and McCarthy can't win

JaCrispy Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 Im not really up to speed on beltway politics…What is the reasoning for not voting for McCarthy?

As long as they can stop Joke's terrible policies, it's a win for the country. Not much "governing" they can do with the Senate and Presidency controlled by Dems. 4 minutes ago, redtail hawk said: it nihilism and petty, personal obstructionism. Too sane for the crazy caucus, too crazy for the moderates. He’s a squish, just following the way the wind blows with no real backbone or principles. What does he actually stand for? He’s been anti-Trump, and pro-Trump, and condemning Trump, and then groveling to Trump. You can negotiate with a guy like that to an extent, but you can’t really trust him not to throw you overboard the moment it’s politically convenient. 1
Joe Ferguson forever Posted January 3, 2023 Posted January 3, 2023 look like grammar school kids picking teams for a school yard basketball game. except some players have shivs and will put them in your back. Wonder how this is playing to centrists/indepedents?
