The Associated Press has called the House race in Washington state's 3rd Congressional District for Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez.

Perez currently leads Republican Joe Kent 50.8% to 49.2%, a margin of 4,621 votes, with 70% of votes counted.

The victory for Perez is a Democrat pickup of a seat that has been held by Republicans since 2011.

The seat had been held by Republican Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler who lost in her primary race after being one of the 10 Republicans to vote to impeach former President Donald Trump over his role in the Capitol Hill riot in January 2021.

GOP isnt losing cause of cheating.  You losing cause of Trump.  ***** funny.

And again....sending out mail in ballots to everyone on the voter rolls isn't normal no matter how often you repeat it.

For the past two elections, Nevada sent mail ballots to all registered voters, unless they opted out. That means around 1.8 million ballots went out. Well more than 1 million won’t be returned. Previously, a voter could request an absentee ballot for any reason. That’s more secure because ballots went only to those wanting to vote by mail.

I don't know about you, but it seems like ballot harvesting might be way easier if, you know, sent out ballots to everyone.

Nah. Just a conspiracy theory!

America’s Fourth World Vote System Is a Global Embarrassment.

The whole world is laughing.

“US election results: When will we know who won?” the BBC wondered.

AZCentral.com columnist Jon Gabriel wrote: “Friends in Hungary and Brazil asked how their entire nations can count votes in a few hours, while it takes Arizona a week or longer.”

As of early Friday afternoon, America’s voting system has devolved from a global beacon of democracy to an international punchline. A bright neon sign warns: “Don’t try this at home.”

Mechanical breakdowns, baffling “ballot dumps,” and inexplicable pauses in tabulation have buried the Arizona and Nevada senatorial and gubernatorial results in sand.

Alaska has soiled itself with a new, needless, and odious rank-choice-voting process. Rather than Tuesday’s top vote-getter winning the Senate seat, Republicans Lisa Murkowski, Kelly Tshibaka, Buzz Kelley, and Democrat Patricia Chesboro are mired in a glacial redistribution of each losing candidate’s votes to those ranked higher.

This ballot buffoonery could continue for weeks.

In the U.S. House, 32 seats remain uncalled. Republicans have yet to secure their expected slim majority, thanks to dilatory vote counts and mail-in ballots that land more slowly than falling autumn leaves.

Who will be the next mayor of Los Angeles? At this writing, 64 hours after polls closed, nobody knows. Some 900,000 ballots await tabulation! In 10 California congressional contests, fewer than half of the ballots have been counted, per Politico. In the Sixth District, only 35 percent of ballots have been tabulated!

What America needs is a major cleanup of our self-humiliating voting system.

Indeed.

It should surprise nobody with two brain cells to rub together that this represents a gross misunderstanding of how elections work.

No state has ever counted all of its ballots on election night.

Quote

These are the facts. No state, in the history of the United States, has counted all of its ballots on "Election Night." In fact, our Constitution and state laws have always recognized that it takes days or weeks to count all of the ballots.

State laws allow for weeks to officially certify election results, as we check and double-check the counts. This is as it should be. We have never truly "known" who won an election on election night. We only think we know, based on large margins, exit polls, and ballots counted to that point. But we only truly know who won when official results are certified — weeks later.

Yes, some states count faster than others and I think most people here would prefer that states counted mail in ballots before Election Day.

But the biggest reason the media has called some races and not others is because some races just weren’t close.

Unfortunately, instead of recognizing this, people are up in arms for the wrong reasons because they are either acting in bad faith or just ignorant.

We need better civics lessons in this country because the ignorance is staggering.

Everything about the way elections are run in Arizona would have had to be approved by Republicans. The systems in place would not exist without Republicans. The security measures. The checks. The audits. The process. All of it ushered through the Capitol by or with Republican support.

We now have a trend with dem candidates in nationally charged elections.

1. Hide in the basement and  campaign very little.

2. Run against popular opponents that have huge engagement and who draw massive campaign event crowds.

3. Warn before election day that counting ballots is going to take days to weeks.

4. Win.

5. Have the idiocracy convinced that this is all normal.

Hobbs did run a pretty bad campaign but it seems her strategy was to just let Lake do all of the talking because she’s a nutjob who just hurts herself anytime she opens her mouth.

If you are talking politics on a sports forum, you are far, far, more tuned in than ~90% of voters. I’d suggest you look into how the normies felt about things before going with terminal-very-online-brain theories.
