#1 seed might now be a pipe dream with 6 games left against teams currently with winning record

This organization's conservative approach is what will ultimately be their downfall, whether it's sitting injured guys who are more than healthy enough to play, not making bolder moves before the trade deadline, and sticking to the same tired predicable schemes on both sides of the ball.

Also starting to lean back towards Miami being the best team in the division as well. Tua is the MVP right now IMO and that team is oozing talent on both sides of the ball. If only we had near the type of talent they do on offense.

I didn't say best in division. Buffalo still hanging onto that for now. But yes. Good point. You're not odds on to win the superbowl without reason. Grab what you need. Be aggressive. This doesn't happen often. If they beat Miami to Wilson their odds drop considerably. They lay back and their division rivals odds drop the most after the deadline.

Well, if we can beat the Vikings (+7.5) there will only be 5 such games left against winning teams and we would be sitting pretty at 7-2.

On a side note, getting tired of these ridiculous spreads though.  Our opponents are definitely using it to fuel them to some extent.

Sure, the Vikings opponents haven't been that good, but they are still a 7-1 team, and I'm pretty sure they are a heck of a lot healthier than the Bills are.

Yes, I think the Bills should win, but 7.5 point favorites after we were unable to cover these bogus spreads 2 weeks in a row?

Mahomes played as bad as or worse than Josh Allen did last night.  Dunno what game you watched but it wasnt Titans game.  Kinda helps a QB when they get a free first down from the refs every other play and a free shot over and over at a failed 2 pt conversion.  Also helps that he has receivers bail out his off target balls unlike Josh having receivers drop ones in the bucket.  Also helps when every single possession the Titans had since their TD early second quarter they basically went 3 and out.

The point is they won the game and Mahomes played like a superstar when the game was on the line like he always does. The guy is also on pace to shatter the single season NFL passing yards record and has never lost a game in Nov/Dec his entire career. Think about how absurd that stat is.

This is my point about the Chiefs/Mahomes vs. Bills/Allen, teams ***** all over themselves when they play the Chiefs because of the aura of greatness around them, just like the Pats and Brady for so many years. Teams don't do this against Buffalo because they are all hype and haven't won anything yet. Maybe some day we'll get there but there is a reason why the chiefs continue to play a brand of consistent football than the Bills can't seem to do and it starts with the QB.

Mahomes and the KC OL were brutal last night.

The parallels were eerie... Both Allen & Mahomes were struggling to throw the ball, OL's struggled to protect them, and they had to rely on QB runs for big plays.

Difference between the KC dub and Bills L was that we played a competent Offense with legitimate weapons, while the Titans trotted out the worst starting QB since Peterman and receiving weapons that wouldn't even suffice for high level SEC teams.

Take away one of Josh’s fluky interception’s yesterday and we would have won.

Credit the Jets for confusion. They weren't intimidated by Cook standing next to Hines back there that's for damn sure.

But at the end of the day, Mahomes was able to put his ugly game behind him and suddenly play at top level when the game was on the line, as he usually does.

I will say this though, Allen had us at the 50 yard line after ONE PLAY  when Jets went up 20-17,  and there's a VERY good chance we would be saying the same thing about him today, if not for the Dion Dawkins holding call.    Holding continues to be my least favorite penalty in the NFL.

They won the game because...

Every other play was a free first down defensive holding call

Had the ball back every minute because the other team went 3 and out every possession

Mahomes had two TEs make miracle catches instead of dropping a pass right in the bucket

Didnt have a fake holding call on a miracle catch at the end of the game

Had 3 shots at a 2pt conversion

It wasnt because Mahomes played like a superstar.

What was the excuse for the pathetic play KC had against the Colts?  Does that not count?  That was against against a 0 win team.

Not sure I follow.

Both QB's struggled.  Both QB's were under siege all game.

Allen had to wait decades between possessions.  Mahomes could sputter, repeatedly, then immediately get the ball back.

Mahomes didn't end the game, his Defense did.  Mahomes got into OT FG range due to a circus catch by his TE2.  He had a chance to end it in regulation and didn't.

Allen dropped a 70 yard bomb into the chest of our WR2 who didn't make the play.

All these teams are playing good to great football and already being 0-2 in the division is a bad omen considering both the Jets and Dolphins are now playing with house money when they visit Buffalo later this year.

I still want to believe this team can win the division at worse, but 0-2 so far tells me that's probably not going to happen and don't see better than 3-3 finish in division play right now.

Also on the flip side in KC, I've felt all along that they are not going to lose more than 1 game the rest of the way and last night showed why Mahomes is still the best QB in the NFL by a large margin and has the more steady hand in terms of coming through when the game is on the line.

Looks like a familiar script is going to play out with this team come January and if they have to go the WC route it will be a quick exit given McD's playoff record.

Calm down and grow a pair

I don’t mind this squad getting their nose bloodied a bit, bring them back down to earth.  While the 1 seed is nice, it’s not any guarantee to success if you don’t show up and play your best football.

The Jets game was a good wake up call…

It doesn't guarantee anything, but it does make it easier. Also, with McDermott the Bills are 0-4 on the road in the playoffs. Jac, Hou, KC x 2. They are 3-0 at home in the playoffs. Indy, Bal, NE. The Bills really do seem to feed off the energy of the home crowd. Besides I don't want to see Buffalo travel to KC for what seems like the 100th straight time.

I don’t think I can take a road playoff loss in KC again.  It might break me.  😂

that being said, have to take business at home in this Division, and I really like chances of that happening.

but it’s time to tighten up and play smart… no more beating ourselves in winnable games, champions don’t do that.

Agreed. The AFCE has turned into a monster of a division. I think we know who many of our primetime games will be against next season.

You wanna say Mahomes is the better QB? Fine. By a large margin? Lay off the crack pipe

We still have not learned from last year's mistakes.    To be #1 you have to play like you want it.

This team just keeps drinking their own Kool-Aid.  They think they are so much better then these other teams that they are playing,  they try and coast to the finish line in games like this.

The coaches are not off the hook either.  They have shown us time and time again, in the last 3 years that they are not willing to change during a game to adjust to what the other team is doing against them during the game.  They constantly play down to their competition.

This game is their typical half assed effort in the second half and it just keeps happening.  This team has not learned how to play with a killer mentality.

Josh is not solely to blame,  but he is responsible for 25% of it, Bass 25%,  LB's 25%, RB's 25% .

Josh missed to many open receivers in this game with too many bad initial reads and bad throws. The last two attempts before halftime especially.   If Josh hits Mckenzie running then crossing route to his left side, Mckenzie would have picked up about 10 yards there no problem if not more.  Then the very next play he tries to force it into Digg's and McKenzie is wide open ahead of Digg's with no one around him for at least 10 yards,  Josh missed that read too.

If Josh makes the right reads there before halftime,  Bass makes that field goal.

The lack of communication from #6 and #17 on the field is disappointing.  McKenzie should have come back to the huddle each time and told Josh that he was wide open.  No communication at all.  Instead we get bad throws to Diggs and Singletary and two incompletions and a missed FG by Bass, result no 3 points before halftime.

That is hardly championship caliber team play, you should have come away with points there.

Are you kidding me about Mahomes? Did you watch that game ? They nearly got beat by a team we destroyed. The only thing that saved the Chiefs were some extremely ticky tacky calls by the refs. I hate blaming officiating, but that game was BS.

To be honest, if the team that has been playing the last 2 weeks doesn't improve not having home field advantage in January will be the least of our worries.

The bottom line is Miami and the NY Jets beat us and looked good doing it. If we lose 1 or 2 more this year we could be looking at a wildcard at best.

The team is out of sorts right now and they have to get serious again......

If they lose 1 more they guarantee themselves the #1 seed unless the jets or dolphins win out.  It’s not panic time

Is this a hot take?
