stevestojan
For those that said they aren’t hugely concerned with Keenum starting for us, quick question: why aren’t you hugely concerned with Kennum starting for us ? 98.3%* of our offense is Josh Allen. *I made that number up, but it’s high.

Some of us wonder if there’s enough talent on offense to not be 98.3% dependent upon Josh Allen. It’s easy to be dependent when he’s out there and healthy, because he is likely the best player in the entire league… especially when he’s on. However, we go through ebbs where that doesn’t work…and maybe, just maybe, we have to get back to basics. Do we have a running game if we actually need to have a running game? Do we have WR’s worth a crap after Diggs when the QB isn’t a guy who wants to throw lasers and bombs all game? What is the deal with Knox? Where did Morris go? How does Hines fit in? Can Cook be a weapon if we need him to be a weapon for an average QB? All questions we’ll see answered … good, bad or meh…. And maybe those are things we can learn from when Allen comes back.

My only hope would be it’ll push McDermott and Dorsey to try and utilise the whole offense rather than putting a load on the QB’s back, which could the be continued after Josh returns. And Keenum may protect the ball better than Josh has over the last five quarters.

It was on his R arm when he was returning from the UCL injury. 2 hours ago, Golden said: Josh Allen Not Practicing Wednesday, Unlikely to Play Against Vikings NFL Nov 9, 2022, 12:11 pm (updated: Nov 9, 2022, 5:11 pm) byDavid Chao, MDJerry Hizon MDJacob Sisneros Bills star quarterback Josh Allen will not practice Wednesday as he recovers from a right elbow injury he suffered at the end of the Week 9 loss to the Jets. Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott said “we'll see” when asked about Allen's status for this Sunday against the Vikings. McDermott's response fits what the Pro Football Docs detailed yesterday: playing Allen would risk further injury to his elbow and likely isn't worth the risk for the team. Allen's elbow injury is not season-ending and will not require surgery at the moment. However, if he plays with a partial tear and is hit in a similar way to his Week 9 injury, this could turn into a full UCL tear and require Tommy John surgery. Buffalo cannot win the Super Bowl in this November matchup, but they could lose it if they play Allen and he further injures his elbow, according to the Pro Football Docs. That is why the Bills are likely to take a cautious approach and start Case Keenum against his former team this week. Sean McDermott: "We believe in Case Keenum." — Alaina Getzenberg (@agetzenberg) November 9, 2022 Buffalo faces the Browns in Week 11 and the Lions in Week 12, thus it would not be surprising to see Allen miss the next three weeks to allow the elbow to fully recover before two divisional opponents in Week 13 and 14. When Allen suffered a UCL sprain in his rookie season, 2018, he missed four games. The hope is this injury will not keep him out that long, but Buffalo would be smart to treat it with the same caution. @Golden, where is this quoted from? It's kind of confusing, because the "by" authors are the ones who style themselves "pro football docs" but, they reference themselves in the quote. Then there's also a quote from Alaina Getzenberg, our ESPN beat reporter, which I don't think Pro Football Docs would quote. So I'm confused. Teams can win in a lot of ways. We’ve been really spoiled with Allen dominating. Strategy can change and when you challenge others in the locker room to step up sometimes the results can be surprising. Keenum can do what rush did and what brissett has done on occasion and just take the easy completions the defense gives. Buffalo has guys who can run after the catch. They have players who can be gadget guys who can offer some different looks on offense. If Dorsey is creative with McKenzie and Hines they can run some stuff that’s not on film yet. The best part (most frustrating for me) was when McKenzie was used in jet sweep motion all the time it always slowed the pass rush that one second or so they had to make sure he didn’t get the ball. Something buffalo has desperately needed as they’ve struggled with pass pro. Keenum isn’t gonna put on the cape and run josh Allen’s offense. But Dorsey can change things up and attack in other ways with him. If he’s forced to play we’re about to find out a lot about our role players. Knox, shakir, McKenzie, Hines and singletary are all guys I have confidence in to work the 5-15 yard range of the field.
John from Riverside
I’ll tell you what would be interesting is if I Case Keenum lid offense Utilize their tight ends Ran the ball with their running backs and gained over 100 yards And this is not a knock on Josh Allen far from it just wonder what the OC would come up with when he knew he didn’t have Josh Allen to rely on

Keenum has played for a long time and has been successful. I’m not excited that he’s playing, but I know he knows the game and knows how to move the football at this level. We could do far worse than Keenum

Did you not watch Heinicke and what he did to the Vikings defense? Do you not think that Keenum, a guy who played for the Vikes along with Diggs, is completely incapable of being as good or better than Heinicke? Yeah, I have confidence in Keenum AT HOME and if Josh needs rest then do it vs. an NFC team who has yet to beat a winning team except a Tua=less Dolphins squad. Do you feel Vic Carucci is still particularly well connected in the Buffalo Bills locker room? Allen missed 5 weeks his rookie year (4 games plus a bye week). It's a reasonable thought that if this injury is thought to be "less severe" than his 2018 injury, he might miss 3 or 4 weeks instead of 5. But there are a lot of specifics that aren't known
