just like we should beat the Jets without Poyer, White and Milano? You want him to play Sunday then sit for 2 games?

I'm assuming a few things ...

  • Milano / Poyer / White are ready to go this week
  • Vikings are a far tougher test than the Browns / Lions where maybe Keenum could win
  • The injury is aggravating for Allen but not likely to get worse
  • A couple weeks rest without throwing could heal it

Like everyone else, pure speculation.

Just a quick reminder for the possibility of Josh sitting out a game or 2…that Keenum has also completed a few memorable passes to our current #1 WR

He has, and if the Bills were getting that version of Keenum then fine. He’s looked shaky at best in more recent times and that’s a huge concern.

Do people realize an NFC loss counts the same as a divisional loss?  Divisional record only becomes a thing in tie-breaker scenarios.

All they think about is tying lol. The goal is to ultimately have the better record which can only occur if you....win games.

But you understand we can’t run the ball right? If that was even a possibility then absolutely. We are incapable of running the ball. Even in extremely light boxes from the fear of a rocket arm MVP QB…what’s it going to look like with a noodle arm journeyman back up. People have to kind of start looking at this realistically. Josh Allen and Diggs are the offense.

In 2020, we couldn't run the ball.  4 games with <100 rush yards - one a low of 63!

Then we went into NE and ran the ball all over them.  38 rush plays, 18 pass plays, 190 yds rushing.  Moss and Motor both had >80 yds.

So, it's just possible that we might be able to run the ball if we actually focus on it.  Now, whether Dorsey and Kromer can creatively make that happen as Daboll did, don't know.

you do understand there's a difference between can't and won't, right?  The Bills rely heavily on Josh's talent instead of using all the pieces we have.  This is the reason why I was against going after CMC, because I don't think we would've used him in the ground game.  Singletary averages 4-5 yards a carry and gets plenty of chunk plays when he touches the ball.  He runs hard and keeps going.  Cook seems to be getting more capable of touching the ball as well.  We just need to give them more opportunities.  Passing the ball 40 times a game vs running only 10 times a game doesn't mean we can't run the ball, we just simply don't.

The amount of people seemingly willing to risk long term injury to the throwing arm of the best QB the Bills have ever had in the name of playoff seeding is quite alarming.

Went 2-0 last year with the Browns. Keenum is the least of my concerns

Tiebreakers will likely be a huge factor for the division this year considering the AFC East competition and the Bills injury issues.  At 6-2, I would personally preferred to have lost to the Packers and Rams, which would put us at 6-0 in the conference and 2-0 in the division (on top of handing the Jets and Dolphins an extra loss).

Let's be real.  Milano and Poyer plays if it's KC.  The coaching staff 100% sat them out because they were confident with a bad QB and no Breece Hall that they'd be fine.

Do they want to play?  I'm sure.  Do the Bills let them play if it's KC?  Well, we let Beasley play on a broken leg, and there are serious questions about whether he was, in fact, able to be more effective than "next man up".

Milano in a shoulder brace played a couple games in 2020 where it turned out he literally could not lift his arm to make a tackle.  After that, the Bills wisely shut him down for 3 weeks.

Wanting to play and the team putting them out there does not mean "physically effective play".

I fully understand it. We don’t because we can’t. Believe me I hope it changed. I actually hate the way we play offense. I say all the time, I want the 14/15 Cam panthers offense with Josh. I absolutely hate this shotgun, pass every down BS.

Cute.

You do realize division games are much more important when it comes to deciding who will win the division?

After our next three games, we play three straight games vs division opponents. That's what will likely decide who wins the afce.

If sitting Allen three weeks allows him to come back 100%, that's better than him dealing with a lingering injury all season long.

Even if we go 1-2 with Keenum, the Bills with a 100% Allen are capable of winning 6 straight and still finishing 13-4.

Of course, this includes a lot of speculation about the injury and healing process.

Nothing cute about it.  NFC games only matter LESS when it comes to tie-breakers.  If you think the Bills can lose the NFC games and still win the division and the #1 seed, I have some Florida swamp land up ready for you to buy.

I am closer to ProcessYaDigg on this.

The Bills can run the ball with Singletary, they choose not to.

For all this concern about trust and Cook, he's been fine when given chances.

Indeed.  And previous playing stint with Washington, the team went 1-7 with him playing, but he completed 65% of his passes for 11 TD and 5 INTs.  That isn't brilliance, but it should be enough to win. Washington that year was 31 for rushing attempts and 27 for Defense - bad team.  And as I recall, Keenum played pretty well in the first couple games, then injured his foot in the 3rd game and started the 4th game anyway - that didn't go too well.  <-- note to the "who cares if the player is injured, he should be playing anyway, McDermott is a sissy" crowd

Can't believe people would wanna risk long term for Allen

It might be for the best if Bill's don't get number one seed.

Playing in 20 degrees with wind and possible rain wouldn't be good for this team. They would have to run and stop the run. Possibly their biggest weakness.

This team key to success is being healthy at the end of the year, that matters most.

The report is that there is no risk of making it worse.  How about we just defer to the doctors on this one?

Except there isn't a risk of long term injury any more than if he played without having this happen according to reports.

Doctors? Why do we need real doctors when we have so many internet doctors?  😋

Like everything else about our team, I’ll have to trust the professionals. They’re doing pretty OK so far.

This ain’t baseball.  The risking long term injury thing is a false narrative.  Football throwing injuries are almost non-existent.

Ok it won't get worse. But does playing stop or slow it from getting better? That's the question....

This team is built for a different style / performance level from a QB than the Browns. Keenum would actually be my greatest concern starting a game for the Bills. They’d need an exceptional performance from him rather than a capable one to get a win.

So they don't have cold temps, wind, or rain in KC come January?
