NFL Week #9 - 11/6/2022 - The Bills at the (NJ) Jets - Post Game thread

Feel like this lose assures us a few more L's are on the schedule.  Think the season ends again in Arrowhead.  Really hope I am wrong, but I have been a Bills fan for too long to think any different, new names, same Bills.

I think a check of the archives would reveal that several here were worried that our lack of investment in offense, and specifically in offensive line, would bite us on the ass.  No QB looks sharp when he's under pressure and running for his life all game.

 

That said, early on Josh was taking the short throws.  I'd have to look at the all-22 but I'm gonna guess that on a number of deeper throws where Josh didn't connect, there were open underneath options.   He needs to take those and move the chains more often.

Zach Wilson is a better QB than Josh Allen in week 9.

 

Isiah McKenzie was a bright spot on our offense today.

 

Bills are winless in the division half way through the season.

if the OL keeps playing like this Its Beans fault.  He did jack in the offseason.  Kc and Cincy reload on OL.  AlsoC, OL should buy JA gifts, not vice versa this year

Play them both again at home though likely with tre white.  Hard to blame injuries in this one cuz the offense was mostly healthy and didn’t do much…the dolphins were playing virtually an entire team of second stringers in that second half though

A BIG Game next week for Buffalo facing Minnesota. They are a very good team and a loss would bring Buffalo back to the pack in the East.

I still remain highly confident in our team.  Am I hurting right now?  More than I have been in years, and I'm not really fully sure why, but this one effing stings.  HOWEVER, I take solace in the fact that we played our absolute worst game of the season, and the Jets played a darn near PERFECT game to come away with a 3 point victory.  Both of our losses have come by a combined total of 5 measly points.  

Everyone has the right to be angry, and the right to vent, I'm not trying to take that from anyone, but make no mistake, this is STILL an elite football team, and come January, I have faith we'll still be in the hunt for not just the playoffs, but the number one seed.

Yep, Miller was a very good acquisition.  Not sure about Elam yet.  
 

it’s not necessarily Beane’s fault…both the Jets and the Dolphins have had a ton of high draft picks (through savvy trades and finishing low in the standings) and the Bills have been drafting at the end of the round for several years. We haven’t had a chance at guys like Jalen Waddle and Sauce Gardner. Eventually it catches up to you.

INT, INT, missed easy throw to Shakir/overthrowing Diggs, missed field goal (last one on Bass, not Josh, though the final two calls/executions on that drive were poor)

When Josh is your leading rusher and they have him defended in the 2nd half, it allows a really good front seven to pressure him and cause him to miss throws and throw into coverage. The result 3 pts after the half.

Something's off with Josh. He's been different since halftime of Packers game. His picks havent been great defensive plays they're just terrible decisions. 

 

The OL is bad. Idk what we do to fix it. It needs a major overhaul in off-season. 

 

However we have terrible games every year mid season under McDermott and end up fixing it.

Terrible. How many holds happened all game long that weren’t called? And then on the final play, Gardner is all over Diggs, doesn’t have his head turned, and is clearly holding his arms. I know they’re both going for it, but the rule has ALWAYS been the defender has to turn his head. 
 

I know that one play doesn’t make the game, and I know that it shouldn’t come down to this. But, good teams get those calls. Favored teams get those calls. Mahomes would get it. Brady would get it. Tyrik Hill or OBJ would get that call. 
 

I don’t like it. 

Can you take a break from the “it’s rigged” nonsense?  This is the way every league is.  You think MichEl Jordan didn’t get favoritism?  Wayne Gretzky? Brady? Etc… those types of things are earned by superstars.. It will never change, crying about it won’t change it.

No different than last year with NE, although I think Miami is the real deal. The Jets are more like NE last year. NE was leading the division late last season.
