CountDorkula Posted November 3, 2022 Share Posted November 3, 2022 1 thing I will say about this. people who are from Buffalo who are not a fan of the Bills go very far out of their way to tell you they are not a fan of the Bills. I know someone who whenever the Bills don’t cover or have a big game will tell he bet against them or is betting against them because the Bills are not as good as everyone thinks. at least that’s what I have noticed. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sorry, I couldn't resist. ☺️ I have done the same, as have many, many others to be sure. Many of these words came into the English language via the Norman conquest of England (1066). This resulted over time in many French based terms now being a part of our English language. This may explain why they have strange spellings at face value.
