Hopefully, but you'd think at least Green Bay would take a shot with the graveyard their WR group is.

Hodgins is also a cadaver.   The bottom of their depth chart is like the bottom of the Bills depth chart.   It's the top 2 receivers where they are different.

Helps with depth, and knows the system. Is also trusted by McDermott.

Not a big name or anything, but bearing in mind our injuries, about the most sensible option available under the circumstances.

If we are playing guys who are inexperienced, having a veteran who knows the system, is more valuable from a continuity pov.

Guess he will fit right in with our current safeties getting burnt deep....he was involved in the DJ Moore 62 yard Hail Mary last week that tied the game for the Panthers.  But at least he has decent speed unlike Johnson...runs in the mid 4.5s which is similar to Poyer and Hyde.

I take it you don’t Watch a lot of football other than the bills go and see where they are ranked on defense for deep passes

Probably already been stated but the biggest concern is what this means for Poyer if anything

I think this says more about Jaquan Johnson than it does about Poyer.

Is it too early to start talking about 1st rnd Safety's in the draft?

It will always be too early to talk about spending a 1st on a safety.

So we waive the guy twice than trade a VALUABLE #7 to get him back...

This is why I drink....

When you put it that way, it sounds strange - but that's a strange way to put it.

Marlowe was waived 2x in 2018.  In 2019-2020 he was on the roster.

He signed with the Lions, then the Falcons, in FA.

So we let him walk in FA 2 years ago, then traded a 7th to get him back.

You can add in that the Falcons waived him in September and then resigned him.

I was hoping for a starter quality player and not “cheap depth”. This is the Bills year. Not the time to be frugal.

What exact starting safety was available and what price were you willing to pay?

Shut Poyer down till the Miami game.

We’ll have to score 35 in Detroit is my guess tho.

Not worried about Cousins and Minnesota in fresh air.

Huh?

I mean this isn’t a problem. But, what?

I called for this in the “when is Benford moving to safety” thread.

This trade made too much sense not to at least check in on. I’m just surprised the Falcons said yes.

Marlowe knows and has produced in our defensive system. Should hit the ground running.

Neither this nor Hines are earth shattering moves, but both make the Bills better and deeper.
