Hines and Cook play a similar role.

To trade picks and pick up this contract means they are giving up on Cook already.

I really don't get the move....

They are very different backs and styles, regardless of what role they had previously filled with their teams.  Cook now becomes the change of pace to Motor (Moss role) and Hines immediately slots in as the 3rd down back.  You'll see.

I am not a big fan, but I’ll cheer for him and not complain

It's ok to have an opinion. I think he sucks. We will cheer for our team always but if the guy is weak sauce then we should be allowed to say so

So we wasted a 2nd rd pick on a 3rd down back only to go get another one mid season.  Good job!

...and gave up a 5th to get him.

For those keeping score

Singletary 3rd

Moss 3rd

Cook 2nd

Hines 5th or 6th

...and they will probably let SIngletary walk in the off-season.

Under contract for three years. What does that mean for Cook, giving up on him already?

I mean we needed another weapon on offense but WR is a much bigger need.

Hines plays a good amount of wr…great move if we didn’t give up a ton.  People only care about name recognition though I guess
