I am not arguing that you can't pay all players for a short term, or that you can't pay many cheap players longterm, I am just saying that you can't pay everybody longterm and that salary cap is a real limitation. So, to ask you once again: If cap is not "real", what other reason do you think Chiefs had when they traded Hill away? As for the Bills, I am pretty sure they would be more than happy to resign/extend Poyer, Oliver, Edmunds, Singletary, Phillips, Jackson, Davis, etc, and still add some top FA. But they won't, and the only reason is that cap is more than real. Because they could get assets. Still compete because they have an Elite QB. And here we are Chiefs once again contenders. But that’s fine be one of these fans that worry obsessively over an accounting tool. Quote
machine gun kelly Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 I like the trade. It’s exactly what McBeane has wanted for a couple of years. He compliments Motor perfectly while Cook develops as I don’t see as an indictment of the rookie. A top notch punt returner, and a pass catching RB. Not the workhorse as that’s still Motor’s job. Sal mentioned yesterday he mirrors McKissic’s stats over the last few years, and proven NFL record of performance. He’s not getting the ball 20 touches like an old school RB, but that was never the goal. Quote

Cook is just getting started after his slow start. It's clear ON THE FIELD that the coaches are trusting him more and more (he was in on a whole 4th quarter drive with the lead shrinking away due to those foolish couple throws by Josh). And Cook is showing good signs now of his value in our scheme. Side note ... Ain't nothing do to with Singletary either. He's doing exactly what they need him to out there. I continue to be excited about what Cook will bring to this offense. The Bills now have 2 running backs that can either be in the backfield or split out wide and essentially be wide receivers. As they both get better in the scheme this will create matchup nightmares and give Josh more options. 1 1 Quote

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing- it’s possible to kick some money down the road while still leaving a little meat on the bone for future seasons. That’s what Beane has been doing so far. We’ll definitely be kicking some money down the line in the coming years. He has to pick his spots and has done a dam good job at it to date imo. 3 Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 When was the last time the Bills had a sub 4.40 back like this can’t honestly remember maybe Willis Mcgahee pre knee injury at Miami Quote

Re: The Chiefs, they've already restructured Mahomes deal, which makes sense as he's signed long term and is one year ahead of Allen. We have that option this offseason with JA's contract. The Bills and Chiefs are both run so well, strong scouting and drafts, and will both be playing accounting games repeatedly with the Banks of Mahomes and Allen. 1 Quote

Warriorspikes51 Posted November 3, 2022 Posted November 3, 2022 (edited) Get creative with formations. Hines in slot, Cook out wide. Cook in slot, Hines out wide. Both in backfield next to Allen in shotgun along with 3 WR set Edited November 3, 2022 by Warriorspikes51 2 Quote
