Roundybout Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Sure people were pretty sauced, but I thought all the Packers fans I sat near were really cool guys. Good-natured ribbing through the whole game back and forth and we talked about wings. Quote

The tailgating and pregame activities were better than phenomenal!! Then once the game started I sensed a significant lack of energy. As for me I was totally whipped; was drinking for 9 hours already at that point. Many people around me were yawning, I was in section 140, 8th row, (corner of the end zone) which usually has a ton of energy. Not tonight. At game time - I was wiped out !!! Many others around me seemed to look and feel the same way. That’s my experience and my observations. Rookies...gotta play the long game on days like that. Quote

The guy in front of me literally pissed himself and left a puddle and was asleep/passed out the most of the game. That’s day games too 1 Quote

Not sure the night game matters. If anything the extended drinking period probably kept some more people outside because they passed out in the parking lot. It really doesn't. There's two types of drunks. Those who drink as much as they can before the 1pm games because they don't want to spend $10+ a beer inside the stadium. And those they look at a night game as having several more hours to drink as much as they can because they don't want to spend $10+ a beer inside the stadium. Quote

It's actually a danger sign of potential alcohol poisoning to drink until you puke (gag reflex may be depressed) or pass out and piss yourself. Quote

When we talk with pride about the Bills Mafia being "crazy" we are not talking about passing out in a puddle of your own urine. Pity the fool! Quote

BRH Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 (edited) When I used to go regularly (my peak attendance was 1985-1998, which unsurprisingly coincides with the year I turned 16 and the year I got married), I didn't drink at all. Not because I didn't like drinking but because I wanted to watch the ***** game and not spend half of it walking up and down the stairs and pissing into a trough (or a sink). Anyway, we've reached that point in the team's development where the only thing that really gets the crowd going is a rivalry game or a playoff game. It was like that in the '90s for those of you who remember it. Games we should win, and particularly those of the non-conference variety, are just an excuse for people to drink more. And strangely enough, people who are wasted spend a lot more time half-conscious than they do screaming their lungs out. Also, I love how people are always surprised that they have no energy for a night game when they've been drinking since 9 am. Amateurs. Edited October 31, 2022 by BRH Quote

If it keeps "fans like that" from attending, there won't be many people at the games. That's based on my 40 year career of going to Bills games. The scene out there is pretty disgusting and gets worse all the time. I have seen fans in the stadium literally at the point of being black out drunk---and then BLACKING OUT----BEFORE THE OPENING KICKOFF.... 10 hours ago, Buffalo03 said: Are there fans of other teams that don't do this? Huge mobs of human trash are a problem at ALL NFL STADIUMS. It's been fairly well documented. One of the worst is DC. Quote

Let animals be animals, and go with it. No thanks, that's why we have this thing called "civilization". I'd rather let the animals learn how to behave in public, and if they can't do that, don't come to the games. Quote
Gunsgoodtime Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 So basically some of you should be watching on TV rather than being at the game, based on comments 1 1 Quote

Similar to fans who destroy things after a championship is won. Not really sports fans Yeah, it's always been very strange to me how some people use a sports victory as an excuse to destroy things. That and saying "there's a game today!" as a justification to start chuggin' brewsksi at 9 AM. I dunno how some people do it, man. It looks fun and I'm certain there are plenty of booze-free tailgates but I dunno, I've never felt much like partying that early lol. I’d say I did my share to contribute to a jovial environment. Quote

At the risk of sound like the ‘get off my lawn’ guy, I suspect it’s largely generational. Not to say there aren’t a- holes in every generation, but I really believe we’re seeing the fruition of a generation of over- indulged brats who were raised by parents who wanted to be ‘their pals’ and were afraid to instill discipline. The result is a population of self-centered narcissists who have no regard for anything or anyone that doesn’t benefit them. Quote
