You think they will play opera music and have charcuterie boards out in this new stadium ?

We definetly need to upgrade the artwork in the bathrooms.

At the risk of sound like the ‘get off my lawn’ guy, I suspect it’s largely generational. Not to say there aren’t a- holes in every generation, but I really believe we’re seeing the fruition of a generation of over- indulged brats who were raised by parents who wanted to be ‘their pals’ and were afraid to instill discipline.
The result is a population of self-centered narcissists who have no regard for anything or anyone that doesn’t benefit them.

Possibly, but there were still drunken fools swearing, fighting and pissing all over themselves when I started going to games in the 80s.  I remember a freezing December night game 20 years ago where I walked by a guy with his pants and underwear around his ankles, sleeping under someone's car (full disclosure - i tried to help him, but he waved me off and said "no thanks, I'm fine!"...LOL) . It's just the human condition once alcohol is involved.

Imagine spending that much money on a ticket and then sleeping through the whole thing?

Unrelated question: Are there people who come to the tailgates without a ticket and then watch the game on TV in the parking lot? I haven't been to an NFL game since the 90's, but I saw a bunch of people doing that at the one Ohio State game that I went to a few years ago.

You guys are both aware that someone climbed out onto the wire supporting the kicking net in the 70's. It used to be common practice to buy a seat specifically for the keg you'd wheel in.

I went to games as a kid all through the 80's and 90's and I saw more huge fights, lewdness, and general jackassery than an 8-15 year old probably should. None of this is new. Not at all. The cutoff rules for beer sales were put in place because of what USED to happen. It wasn't men in suits politely clapping I assure you.

I doubt you actually smelled it. My brother ***** himself a few years back and all we could smell was victory. He was praised as a hero during the game.

I think I know why the bills don't have night games. Literally everyone around me was tuned up on booze.... The guy in front of me literally pissed himself and left a puddle and was asleep/passed out the most of the game.

Yes. I’m walking distance to the stadium. I go down and tailgate a few times a year without having a ticket.

went last night. As I was walking home(20 min before kickoff) I saw several groups still in the ECC lots that had TVs on and fires roaring.

every NFL stadium has it's issues with alcohol and drunks. I was with my family in the 90's at a charger game with my 2 young children and were heckled and taunted for wearing Bills colors. It was SAD.

then the drunk guy who wanted to come to blows with hubby for wearing Bills colors in Phoenix

I learned from those 2 games to always try to find seats in the more expensive sections in hoping of pricing out drunk morons. For both of those we were in the cheaps.

But last night I think I might have wanted to alert stadium security this guy was out like a light and have him removed from the stadium. Highmark stadium should be nobodies crash pad. It's a football venue. Maybe he needs to go to a drunk tank and sober up. Where were his friends?  Blowing chunks on somebody equally Gross.

it's ridiculous behavior. Table breaking an shenanigans I can deal with. The other ugliness not so much.

This is exactly what I do - for the very same reason (poor experience in cheaper seats).  I go to one game a year, and it's worth spending a few extra bucks on club seats to weed out the riff raff.  It hasn't failed me yet for 15 years.

When my group goes to games, it’s all about the food at the tailgate. Several times we’ve roasted a whole pig and there’s usually 3-5 people who come without a ticket and set up a TV. It’s great to come back to that after the game as you wait for traffic to die down too.
