With the Eagles and Chiefs making roster moves, are the Bills already good enough to stand pat?

I know the details but it’s going to happen at some point. It really doesn’t matter if it’s next year or 3 years from now, he’ll get an extension to create even more room. They don’t need to do it next year.

That's all I'm saying.

maybe ignoring the fans fantasy wants….

it’s more about depth and system fit.

thr other issue is the contract they have after this year. With the 49ers they could absorb CMCs contract where their QB will still be on their rookie contract.   Toneys contract is reasonable for future years being low. Quinn’s contract was high for its remaining years that buffalo would not be able to afford.

We can easily free up enough cap space to fit both.  Hunt wont cost much and we can do an incentive based deal with OBJ

OBJ probably looking for more guaranteed money, with a long term contract.

That was the rumour why he didn't re sign with the rams as the rams were trying to give him a short term deal.

Now will he get a mid/long term contract coming off an acl injury at aged 30? That remains to be seen

With 1.6 million in cap space, how much can they do? And just as important, what draft capital would Beane give up?

How will you pay for these two with about 1.6 million cap space?

We can free up money at any time.  You should know this

If I am the Bills, I have my eyes on two players and would honestly be trying to get them both...

Trade for Hunt and then sign OBJ.

I am a big believer in Devin, but Hunt is a top 5 RB as a full time starter.  He is a true 3 down RB who is a great runner and receiver but can also pickup tough yards between the tackles.  Him as the lead and Devin rotating in would an excellent 1-2 punch.  OBJ is depth and insurance and even if not full speed, is at least better than McKenzie or Kumerow.

I would bring both in because both help our football team, but more importantly, we would also be keeping them from a team we might face in the playoffs or Super Bowl.

But let me be clear...and I am supremely confident in our team as is.  I do not think we MUST make these moves, or any moves.  This is more about how both these trades makes sense in both helping our roster be even better and prevents competitors for the SB this year from getting better.

I doubt Kim Pagula would sign off for Hunt.

Beane has been great in putting together this roster but we have needs in the defensive backfield and our o-line needs more depth with the loss of Brown. A RB and another receiver would also give stability in case of injuries which are coming.

Who can we get in the cheap that can really help us this season and maybe beyond??  Kareem Hunt seems like a no-brainer football-wise.  We can address the extra back in the room at a later point.  Grab a top 5 back right now and make our running game dangerous.

I'm usually not a "let's go out and sign and/or trade for the big names" kind of guy, but these two dudes actually make sense given roster needs.  I'd love to add a good interior offensive lineman as well, but not sure how realistic that is.  These two skill guys are actually available and presumably could be had for a reasonable price.

I would at least like to see a couple of depth moves that wouldn’t break the bank. See if Dalton Risner could be had for line depth and maybe Jonathan Abram for secondary depth.

The problem with K Hunt is the beyond portion.  He is about to enter FA and wants to get paid.

For the OP, I think an RB would be helpful.  If done right, not just for the remainder of this year but to cover next year as well (Singletary will be FA).   My hopes:

Top Choice -AJ Dillon (you heard it here first)- you get the remainder of this year and all next year on his rookie contract.  Can get the tough yard.  During next year if he is a fit you could then extend.  I think he is good and also would be great thunder to the upcoming lightning of Cook.

Then the rentals.  For these rentals I hope Beane keeps it around the 5th he got for Ford.  Probably have to wait out the Rams because they pay more than most and apparently want one.

K Hunt - excellent back but can't give much because FA next year and don't want to be the big bidder

         D Montgomery - another rental

C Akers - seems like it would be hard to deal w Rams because of how little they value draft picks.  But seems like he needs to go and a low draft pick (and of course throw in Moss).

Ok, so two caveats upfront:

1. I believe this present team currently can win the SB.

2. I don't want Beane make a move so for the sake of it because other contenders are.

Having said that I would like to see us be a bit aggressive and make a move. Especially at RB, which frankly is a weakness, even though Devin is a warrior. Would absolutely love Jacob's at the right price.  Also would not mind getting a safety for depth. Or even a WR but I'd wait and take my chances with renting OBJ. Thoughts?

Yes the Bills should trade for either Hunt/Gibson or Jacobs,  they do not have a legit starting RB on this team and this is why they continue to have Allen run the ball

The previous two seasons many people on this site begged that the BILLS do nothing and said,  WERE GOOD and don't need any improvements.  Then those same people moaned later losing in the playoffs.  We need a starting level RB and there are quality players available

Gibson with Commanders,  runs a 4.39 forty and is 220lbs, he is resigned into next season at under 2 million a season.  I would give 2 picks like KC gave Giants,  gives us a starter this season and next if Singletary leaves.
