Big Blitz Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 (edited) RCP latest avg: Hochul 49 Zeldin 43 NY is in play. Wow. Coumo won by 22 in 2018. He was going to be POTUS LOLOLOLOL The Democrat party is an absolute disaster. Too caught up in TDS to realize what a cluster f*** they have turned this country - and with their like minded cohorts - around the world Edited October 27, 2022 by Big Blitz

It was highly abused, which has been well documented. I know from experience. A lot of already rich people who didn't need it got even richer. And then to make it so it didn't need to be repaid was the kicker. Like most socialist programs, folks are operating under the guise that people will do the right things in life when in reality people will do the opposite when given the opportunity to cheat the system. The thinking is it's a free handout so even though that person doesn't need it they might as well take it because everyone else is. Edited October 27, 2022 by KDIGGZ 1
ALF Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 NYC decides national and statewide races , will be interesting how they choose with their high crime rate. In the debate Zeldin said Pegula should pay for his own stadium not the State and Casino money.

But the majority? And you base this on experience? Do tell. You do understand why they were forgivable don’t you? Edited October 27, 2022 by Chef Jim

Do tell. You do understand why they were forgivable don’t you? It was the biggest abuse in possibly the history of this country (not counting the ongoing abuse of welfare, medicare, rent assistance, other long term socialist programs) and not a lot of people are talking about it. I wasn't even talking about the obvious fraud committed by people overseas or by giving false info. Right off the bat that is probably 1/4 of it right there. You could Google the name of a company and get all the details you needed and put false phone number and address, it was really that easy. They were sending money first and asking questions later. Just a total trainwreck of a process from the start. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1279664 Surely you understand that I can't say how I know but I'd wager that 7 out of 10 cases I came across from actual companies were very very wealthy individuals that clearly did not have to sell their 3rd or 4th house to be able to keep payroll going. In fact they were buying more houses, cars, etc with the extra dough. It wasn't hard to inflate the numbers to maximize their payouts either. Popular belief was that the money had to be used on payroll only and that's not true, it was pretty much all operating expenses to keep the business running including rent, mortgage, utilities, operating costs, etc which were much easier to fudge the numbers on. The only people I know personally who needed the payroll money owned restaurants/bars and there were ways to cut hours temporarily and still accept the PPP because technically you weren't laying people off. They definitely didn't need the money and the salaries of those types of employees is already low because they work mostly for tips. Do you think they were making as much in tips with nobody going out during that time? Was their salary increased after getting the PPP money? Absolutely not. It didn't end up in the right hands. Basically it was a complete money grab and I personally know some wealthy folks who got even richer off of this. One guy we know made so much that he bought a 3 story condo with an elevator in FL, a speed boat, and a new Corvette. His income was never impacted because his business was deemed essential from the start but that didn't stop him from collecting millions in PPP! True story.

Yeah fug em. Yes it was abused because it was hastily put together because it needed to be thrown together. This damn thing moved fast. People were not working and couldn’t collect unemployment because as you said they were still employed. Now let’s work on the comparison between this and the student loan forgiveness. This is the true conversation we’re having. They are not even remotely similar. 1

They are just giving away free money as a bonus for those businesses that kept on their employees.
B-Man Posted October 27, 2022 Posted October 27, 2022 Where's Kathy? NY Governor disappears after debate with GOP challenger The following day, Hochul showed up at a senior citizens’ center in Times Plaza where she individually spoke with a few dozen residents over lunch. Reporters were directed to the lobby of the building for a press gaggle by the Governor’s spokeswoman. But they waited in vain after Hochul was bustled out of a back door. Reporters running outside to catch her only managed to get a glimpse of her SUV as it sped away. https://hotair.com/jazz-shaw/2022/10/27/wheres-kathy-ny-governor-disappears-after-debate-with-gop-challenger-n506108
Precision Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 Surprised no one has mentioned the murder in Cheektowaga. A tragedy that would have been avoided if not for the bail reform legislation. NY man sprung on no bail in Facebook-posted beating executes wife in front of kids just hours later: cops He was arraigned in Cheektowaga Town Court on Oct. 4 but was released because state law prevented the judge from setting bail due to the low-level of the charges, Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said. “There was zero evidence for anything higher than that,” Flynn said of the misdemeanor charges. “The charges were correctly charged. The judge had no choice but to release this person.” Adding insult to injury, under the bail reforms enacted by the Democratic-controlled state Legislature and upheld by Hochul, the judge couldn’t even consider Bennefield’s 2000 conviction and 15-year prison sentence for kidnapping an ex-girlfriend and another woman at gunpoint because the Empire State is one of the few across the US that doesn’t allow judges to weigh the “dangerousness” of a perp in considering bail.
Over 29 years of fanhood Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 All the rational republicans out there need to admit trumpy nonsense opened the door to a lot of terrible anything but trump political outcomes. and we all see the policy disaster that’s has resulted top to bottom.
Wacka Posted November 2, 2022 Posted November 2, 2022 (edited) Why doesn't Hocul just go back to gnawing wood and building dams? Live in Cheektowaga and have not seen any Hocul signs. Edited November 2, 2022 by Wacka 1

Irv Posted November 2, 2022 Author Posted November 2, 2022 Hochul. What a complete failure. How do you lose when you have a 2-1 majority? It’s because you’re an unequivocal idiot. What a mess.
