I discovered Bills fan forums in 2005.  I wanted a name that reflected the era I became a Bills fan, and I wanted a name that would remind some fans, and educate others, about the greatness of that era.   Billy Shaw wasn't my favorite player or anything like that, but I decided he would be best because his career in pro football spanned pretty much the entire AFL era, and because of his class and football excellence.

It didn't occur to me at the time to ask permission to use his name and number, because at the time it didn't occur to me that I would write all the stuff I've written over the years.

Only player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame who never played a down in the NFL.   You want to improve the Bills' running game?   Get another Billy Shaw.

I had to move away for work. But, home will always be home.

Side note: I live in Boston. Here, they have a term for us transplants, “NY State friendly” (notice, not NYC) - it makes me proud.

My first fantasy football team was name The Captain Cavemans (probably around 2001?) because it made me chuckle, when I signed up here back in the mid 2000s it just seemed like a good fit.

It's been a while but if my memory serves me right Watkins very first injury as a Bill was a rib injury he suffered in the pre-season before his first career game. There was a lot of doom and gloom from the fanbase around the injury. Little did we know at the time it would foretell an entire career of constant injuries for Sammy.

You’ve inspired me to change my name to Tua Tagaviloa’s Concussion

The first bit of football analysis, seeing something that others hadn't pointed out, that I remember doing as a kid was about Joe Ferguson.  I noticed that Ferfuson would be playing great and then something bad would happen like a dropped pass or false start, or a call that he didn't like.  He would get this look of anger on his face and from that point on his game would be crap.  He'd throw reckless interceptions and just make awful mistakes.  It got to the point where I could spot it and go "Oh no!!!!  He has that look."  His ire was not a good thing.

I was a gym rat and was both jacked and extremely strong as I had elite level lifts for all of the big 3(squat, deadlift, bench) in my weight class.  Already started out with big shoulders as a kid which became even bigger to where people called me a linebacker...

My Dad is from Istanbul, so I am Turkish

My buddy at work who also worked out also started calling me Big Turk and the name just kinda stuck.

During 2004 season , the Bills played NE the third game.

I was listening to the Pac Man show in Charlotte and he had on a guy, Jim Noble. Noble started crapping on the Bills hard as they were discussing the upcoming games.
I called in and talked some serious Bills smack to him as I had to represent.

Noble very sanctimoniously started his reply with something like, Slow down there Buffalo Boy, which cracked me up in the moment.

I’ve actually been coming to TBD since about 2000. I tried signing up back then and think I probably have an AOL or EarthLink account on here somewhere😜

I resigned up in 2013 as Buffalo Boy when I got a smart phone.

Any time i call the local shows here I use that moniker.

Ooh, that's great!

When I wrote mine, I was thinking about a list of names that represented the name I might have chosen from different decades.   Joe was the obvious choice for the 70.  Smerlas, Talley, Moulds, Freddy and Kyle.

Annoying troll name for a long gone Dolphins board I used to mess with over 20 years ago before FinHeaven even existed, never changed it when I signed up here. Miami Herald? Not sure but it was the biggest one at the time. I was the main Bills troll, RayRay was the Jets main troll, Pats didn’t have any one because they didn’t matter back then.
