col_forbin Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Link 7/4/1989 This looks like a definite pick up for all those heads out there. 5.1 mix and over 3 hours of footage in The Ralph!!!!
Marv Levy Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Yep. I just preorded it. Always wanted a show from my hometown. DVD + CD! NICE!
34-78-83 Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 OMFG! That was one of my first and favorite shows by the Dead. That is fantastic news
BRH Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I was at 7/16/90. Wish they would have done that one instead!
coltrane34 Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I was there too. It was an awesome show, and it started my touring days with the dead. Woah, am i still on tour?
JinVA Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Leave it to the Colonel to keep you updated for all your Dead fixes. I didn't go to this show, but did make it to the RFK run.
Simon Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 If I remember correctly, (yeah right ) the Deal and the USBlues encore were absolutely smokin'. I'm also thinkin Jerry was in red that day?

I didn't go to this show, but did make it to the RFK run. 338924 I missed that RFK run but I did see the Who there that summer (for free, in the days before Congressional staffers and interns were prohibited from accepting gifts from lobbyists ). I think they played RFK only a few days apart. Last Friday I was in DC on bidness and saw the Cubs-Nats game at RFK. It was the first time I'd been there since seeing the Who. Place hasn't changed at ALL.
BRH Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I'm also thinkin Jerry was in red that day? 338931 Jerry wore a red shirt? Did he even own a red shirt? We used to discuss whether Jerry had a houseful of blue shirts or whether he wore the same one every night.
Simon Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Jerry wore a red shirt? Did he even own a red shirt? "Trouble ahead when Jerry's in red!" He'd bust out a red shirt on the rare occasion and I have some recollection of seeing him in red at one of the July4 shows at Rich. However I don't dismiss out of hand the possibility that my imagination was excessively "vivid" that day. Cya

BRH Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Wasn't this also one those shows where it started raining during "Looks Like Rain". 338980 I thought it ALWAYS rains during Looks Like Rain. It seems like it's a cosmic happening when you're there, of course, but why would they play that if it wasn't raining or didn't look like it was going to?

But I wont lie it took me a while before I realized we were being played.
col_forbin Posted May 18, 2005 Author Posted May 18, 2005 Jerry wore a red shirt? Did he even own a red shirt? 338941 Yes he owned one. I saw him break it out in Charlotte, NC....one day after they broke out Unbroken Chain
Bill from NYC Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Did you guys ever get to see Kingfish up in Buffalo? I saw them in a club in Nassau County many moons ago, a show I will never forget.
JinVA Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Yes he owned one. I saw him break it out in Charlotte, NC....one day after they broke out Unbroken Chain 339006 My final Dead run. However they actually broke out Unbroken a few nights before in Philly first.

I just couldn't remember. It was tight none the less, although the sign that things were coming to an end had started.

In fact it was years later that I learned it wasn't, which I very disapointed in finding out.
