Brady is a guy I worry about in retirement, more so now that he's going through a divorce. He always wants one more and football is his whole life. Peyton and Eli are happy doing TV. Rodgers is going to love getting high in a yurt somewhere. Brady wants to play. I don't think he will ever be happy after football.

True. Brady is a Michael Jordan type. Most of the greats are just fine with being remembered as such. When you hear stories about Jordan he’s never been happy unless he’s competing and (in his mind, even if not on a field of play) winning.

Brady overstayed his career by a season (probably 2).  Could have/should have rode off after his TB Superbowl.

He is looking really old and tired now, and whatever plastic surgery he has had done is making him look like a characture.

I wonder if he can do the front office thing and channel that competitive energy into that.  Not sure it would work out though as he might be too demanding of the players.

Knowing this warms my heart.

Football IS Brady's life. There's no room for anything else and it doesn't seem like he has any other interests. When he posted his retirement message it was all about supporting his kids and being there for them. Then he was like "the heck with this! I'm not the center of attention!"

A handful of QBs have played into their 40's, but Brady is doing it because he can't function in the world outside of football.

Peyton not only does his ESPN gig but also hosts College Bowl with Cooper, which is a lot of fun to watch. He's obviously happy and enjoying life with his brothers. I agree 100% that Rodgers will enjoy life after football probably as much or more than life as a football player. When Aaron's done he'll shrug, say "that was cool" and head off on some spiritual discovery camp in the jungle for 6 months.

Say what you will about Rodgers, but the guy definitely is an interesting personality with things to say.

Brady being the Fox commentator is going to be weird, because he has ZERO personality. He's a total dud, who never utters an interesting word. I can't imagine what he is going to sound like doing that job, because truly the only thing he cares about is the TB12 brand and playing football. Even when he's talking about his favorite topic (himself) he offers nothing but bland clichés and mumbling answers that say nothing.

Does the guy have nothing going on in his life outside of football? Imagine having that much money and not sprinting into retirement to do all the ***** your haven't been able to do because of work.

Especially now with the pending divorce, this is his only life pursuit. All the money in the world and no interest in anything but football.

that's it... the guy is a robot

film study... avacado smoothie... film study... kale smoothie... film study... bowl of lettuce... yoga... film study

Mix in the occasional plastic surgery to look "adorable" but other than that there's really nothing else there. It's like listening to a robot when he talks.

I predict he will be horrific to listen to on Fox and will hate every minute of it, because the topic won't be Tom Brady

He’s the GOAT, but I’m tired of his drama. I don’t know if it’s intentional, but he seems to love it. He’s spent this entire season looking angry and depressed. If you have stuff to deal with, just retire. It’s much less endearing when not getting it done on the field.

Tom vs Time. It's all part of the story.

Is it really over? Has Time finally won?

100% story arc. This week he'll throw for 400 yards and a few TDs against Carolina and everyone will do the whole "not so fast!" deal.

Anyone who has ever watched WWE has seen the hero get beat down, seemingly it's hopeless, but THEN!

The rally.

The more hopeless it looks before the rally, the better for the story.

Brady will 100% be in the Super Bowl. You can book it.

I don't get it either. He is the GOAT QB with 7 Super Bowls. He has nothing left to prove as a player. He and his wife have made more money then they could hope to spend. Just the vacations he could afford to going traveling around the world would be exciting. Go be a good husband/dad. He could still stay in football in some way where is doesn't have to consume him all the time and still have a great life.

Been calling Brady by the name Marcia for as long as I've been on this board.  Let me be clear that this cheating piece of ***** prick deserves every bad thing coming their way.  Does that make my position more clear?

Is @Dick_Cheney being a fan of the cheater (no surprise) a good or bad thing?  Hopefully he will take Teflon™ T*m quail hunting.

the sad truth is that none of that interests him...

He's Dwight Schrute with more success and fewer beets

I wonder if he even plays golf. I haven't seen him on any of these celebrity tours...

They say the same thing about Vince McMahon. Before he had to step down as the CEO of WWE with his legal troubles, he was a workaholic with wrestling 24-7-365. He didn't really have any other interests despite being a billionaire.

very similar, good comparison!

2 guys 100% into their work with everything else being a box to check or an unwelcome distraction.
