stuckincincy Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 it takes a few days, but they actually take right from your bank account. You register your account, and then EFT take place back and forth. I have never had any issues, and they are a reputable, publickly traded comapny 338642 Thanks - I was just wondering how it worked.
Rat-boy Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I'm in. I prefer PokerRoom but have a PartyPoker account as well.
KD in CA Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Still confused...how do you deposit $$$ if not by card? Check? Money Order? 338620 You send them money via Netteller (it's like PayPal), so there is an intermediary and you're not sending your CC to some off shore on-line casino. Easy to sign up for Netteller. I'll play depending on the date and time.
BuffOrange Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I was one of the guys who joined Paradise Poker.com way back when BF in Indiana tried to organize a tournament. That got me hooked. I love playing tournament poker. Let's try to do something at Paradise Poker if we can. The problem with joining a new poker site is they usually want a minimum $50 commitment. But count me in whatever you decide! PTR 338645 Paradise is the site I usually play at for limit. The games are as soft as Party with a lower rake, and they have decent software. Good site. It's kinda slow for tournaments though. Ultimate Bet and Poker Stars are the best for that. Every site I've played at lets you use credit cards for whoever wanted to know.
Dan Gross Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I think most places do not accept cards now a days. I'm not sure, but think the card comapnies put the kibosh on that for two reasons. #1) cards being used for an illegal activity in most states #2) Guys losing their shirts and then claiming fraud 338519 #2a) Trying to lose the stigma of "gambling causing people to not only lose all their hard-earned money but run up a load of debt as well..." #3) With Credit Card, the casino pays a percentage for the transaction, the other way is at worst "even money" for them, as the company that's doing the transaction handling is charging the customer...and it wouldn't be surprising to see the casino's either holding share or getting kick-backs...
BF_in_Indiana Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Trying to organize a tournament here was almost impossible. Everyone jumped on it just like they are now, but when push came to shove these were the issues. 1. The time. 2. The date. 3. Not everyone wanted to download the software. It ended up being a waste of time. tgregg99 and I ended up in a 20 dollar sit and go (which I won EZC) which was fun but not as fun as a TBD tourney would have been.

sfladave Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 BF, any suggestions on making it work? Would love to try 339310 Good luck when I tried to get this to fly we had a lot of people PM saying they were in but as BF said noone showed. I had at least 20 people say that they were definately in. We had 8 people show but 2 of them were friends I had to call at last minute to help us reach 8, but we needed 10 so the tourney was canceled. I had at least 20 people say that they were definately in. I am in if we do play, I prefer Paradise poker.com because they do have their decks and dealing audited by one of the big 5 auditing firms and they will definately set up a private table. If someone desides to do this please PM me and fill me in. I'll also offer any help or advice from my experience.
ajzepp Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Thats what i use. A little pricey, cost about 9% each time you deposit money into it, but your cashouts get there pretty quickly 338594 You don't even notice that if you play on Pacific Poker. They give you the fees back in the form of a bonus. I just tell them the total amt I want to gamble and they do the math. For example, I usually put down $20 and try to turn that into something. If I request a deposit of $20, that's something like $18+ in cash plus like around $2 in fees. Pacific doesn't just give me the $18 credit, though, they credit me the whole $20. By the way, I've been playing sit-downs the past couple days and have turned that $20 into over $100, so I'm ready for you!
