Spotrac prorated his salary for missing 6 games down to the $690k number.  He will have some signing bonus dead cap.

The savings should be just above $700k.

This note from when he was suspended; "Acording to Spotrac, Smith could forfeit $390,423 due to this suspension, a number which includes money from his base salary, signing bonus and game active bonus. The Bills could free up $1.1 million in cap space if he is released. "

The Bills will now save his remaining 11 game checks which I think is the app. $690,000. Does that sound right?

OMG you are not serious? PED Murphy got paid a ton and sucked his entire Bills tenure.

PED Murphy wasn't caught while on the Bills.  And don't call me Shirley...

Big mistake cutting Smith. The guy payed the price for his unfortunate mistake. The Bills kept him on ice for 6 weeks then abruptly  decided to offload him. He’s a valuable contributor to our ST unit and doesn’t make much. This is a bad message to the other players, showing zero loyalty to a hard worker and a special teams ace with experience at LB. What’s the reason for doing this to Andre?  Can’t we create a roster spot with someone who isn’t a leader on one of our units.

hypothetically if Andre smith wasn’t called for holding on McKenzie’s KR Touchdown vs Tennessee last October, then we would probably be Super Bowl champs as we would’ve held the tie breaker over the chiefs and they would’ve had to come through us

Kind of forgot about him, not a big loss Bills have plenty of Special Teams Specialists on the roster and likely will be getting Kumerow back after the bye.

There were two games after the Bills played KC in the playoffs, there is no guarantee that the Bills beat KC at home let alone win two games after so I think your prediction of a likely SB championship is a bit off.

I think about 95% of bills fans would agree with me that we were winning the super bowl last year. The only thing stopping us was a fluke

Thinking of it as a predetermined outcome is flawed and many fans thinking that way are holding onto something that is not really true. I think it is a solid shot the Bills win the Super Bowl last year had they gotten past KC. BUT there were two games after that KC game and it is easy to see a let down against Cincy after a highly emotional game against KC or having difficulty against Von and Darnold in the Super Bowl had the Bills gotten past Cincy. It's just far too much that would have gone on after to call anything as being what would have happened.

Making a spot for McCafrey or OBJ. #9 will look good on either of them.

Hopefully not.

OBJ is a Sissie, I haven't forgotten when he hit or slap a Bill's player, and then ran a hid behind another giant player.

Also, we don't need a Runningback.

OBJ is beloved by teammates, as well as a mercenary. Perfect.

That's honestly gotta really suck. For 6 weeks you're stuck on the sidelines watching your team dominate, watching other players at your position perform well, always knowing in the back of your mind that you might not be welcomed back when your 6 weeks is up. And then you get that dreaded call... Brutal business.

Yes that makes it even worse. He was a known cheat when they signed him

You guys on your high horses are hilarious. Every single football player has been on some sort of PED at one time or another. It’s arguing semantics about the timing or the substance used. PEDs probably have the least impact in football of all sports and are mainly used for improved recovery (ie TB12’s growth hormone plan)

Smith’s estrogen level was raised because most testosterone based anabolics get converted to estrogen to some degree. They tested him in the window where the testosterone level had normalized but his estrogen was still elevated.
