Greg S Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 It's too bad John Madden never got to call a game with Josh Allen. I think Allen would have been a favorite player of Madden's. 3 1 1 Quote

SF Bills Fan Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I like Nance and Romo. When Gabe caught the TD I think Nance said something like “If I saw the one on one coverage on Davis you know Goddamn Josh Allen saw it too”. 3 Quote

I hope it is replayed because i forgot to dvr it NFL Network should replay it this week, they don't have it on the schedule yet, just a lot of "Teams To Be Announced". There's also NFL+, the game is up there now. Quote
davefan66 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 They are both good. Romo was a bit of a KC homer yesterday, kinda pulled back later in the game. What I want from Romo is more insider football knowledge. When he started, he would call what he thought the next play was. Understand how that probably doesn’t sit well with coaches. Would like more explanation of what the QB saw on a play, or why a play worked. Quote

He's on a directional mic. I guess I can go either way with it but I do like to hear Romo's take. How many here saw pre-snap Davis 1:1 (TD) and screamed at their TV for Josh to target him? 8 minutes ago, davefan66 said: When he started, he would call what he thought the next play was. AGREED! I think Allen would have been a favorite player of Madden's. Apparently he was, even if he didn't say so publicly. From Tim Graham's article last month: “John Madden was fixated by Josh Allen,” said Los Angeles Times reporter Sam Farmer, who communicated regularly with Madden until the football icon’s December death. In texts, Madden referred to Allen as “an animal,” “a beast” and “worth the price of admission.” https://theathletic.com/3546121/2022/09/01/josh-allen-bills/ 5 1 Quote

Warcodered Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 They always seem to see Josh do ridiculous things, hurdle against the Vikings, out aggressing Dallas' D-line, hurdle the Chiefs, and Playoff Allen. 1 Quote
JerseyBills Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 (edited) Nantz had a legendary line on the hurdle - "The Keep And The Leap!" Romo response - "He's an alien" Edited October 17, 2022 by JerseyBills 1 Quote
Scott7975 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I've alwasy liked Nantz. I liked Romo better when he used to call out plays before the snap and things like that. I still like him better than Collinsworth and Aikmen but Romo is getting like Collinsworth with his ballwashing sometimes. Quote

Bills2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 They likely will be doing the 6-1 Bills at the 6-2 Jets in 3 weeks. November 6 and the lead in the AFC, not just the AFC East could be on the line. Crazy. Quote

He has a way of talking about the action that brings tremendous insight to people that already know the game as well as casual fans who might not always know what they're seeing. John Madden had the latter, but being able to combine the two seamlessly while being entertaining is a an extremely rare gift. I agree with that assessment of Romo. He is good for big fans and casual fans alike. I think that is the difference. Tim McCarver was always seen as a great baseball analyst but he’d just explain overly simplistic things as if someone was watching their first game. That’s fine but not enough. Romo does both. Quote
C.Biscuit97 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I think Romo is overrated but they are the number 1 team so the game always feels bigger when they are calling it. Quote
Golden*Wheels Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I didn't think they ADDED a lot, honestly, and Nantz to me is always boring and dry as hell. But I guess a good team doesn't stick out? Quote
GunnerBill Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I thought Romo was brutal last night. Nantz had a good call. But it is like a dad watching the game with his excitable 10 year old who keeps interrupting to giggle inanely. 2 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Is the female announcer still working on NFL games? I haven't heard her for a while but I guess they give her the 'lesser' games so since we've been good she hasn't covered us Quote
