Bills2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 The Allen throw to Knox to win the game is really just an incredible throw. It is very similar to the throw Dalton made against the Ravens to end the playoff drought. It is amazing just how close it was. When Josh said "millimeters" he was pretty close. Unreal QB. 1 Quote

If that play was an option, McKenzie's job is to be looking for the pitch, isn't it?? TBH, even if that play was a total improvisation by Allen, the fumble is still McKenzie's fault. This is Allen's fifth year. We know he likes to improvise. If you want to be a starting skill position player for the Buffalo Bills, you need to be on the same page as the franchise cornerstone who's getting paid $250M to make highlight reel plays. It's inexcusable for a player to be in lateral/pitch range and be unprepared to receive a lateral. 1 Quote

Its possible Josh tossed it early and McK wasnt ready. Nobody knows this stuff but the Bills. Sal said the play was a screen to the opposite side and when that wasn't there Josh improvised to McKenzie. He wasn't expecting anything coming his way. 5 Quote

Today they showed they can play their B game and still beat the Chiefs at home. I mean I am not arguing we are not better than the Chiefs (we definitely are), but where did this notion of Bills playing their B game (and you are not only one claiming that) came from? That is some serious homerism imo and insulting to Chiefs. Defense played their A+ game vs great Chiefs offense. And our offense also played great, save for some miscues coming mostly from McKenzie. I think it is weird to expect complete mistake-free play and call only such play an "A game". Its completely unrealistic. Jmo ofc. Quote

I keep thinking about the improvised throw to Diggs after the center mishandled the spike in the Dolphins game. Diggs had no idea it was coming but when he saw the ball coming he instinctively realized his QB needed him. McKenzie needs to be more in the moment and less about girls and his restaurant and his persona and other off field crap. I'm also hoping it was also related to lingering concussion symptoms. Quote

Josh will often keep those, but with the defense keying on him, McKenzie had the better angle to the pylon. I actually like those option play designs as Allen gets so much attention, but clearly the execution needs some practice. Mahomes does those option plays with shovel passes quite a lot near the goal line too. Edited October 17, 2022 by WideNine Quote

The Bills beat the Rams, Ravens, Chiefs on the road. Also played 2 physical teams at home. 4 out of 6 games on the road to start the season. Banged up like crazy and only a heat storm keeping us from 6-0. Thats no easy feat. If the trolls dont think this team is legit now, they never will. I don't think anyone is disputing this team is legit....they were legit last year and the year before that. For me, I'm done getting hype for regular season wins for a team this good. They should win. They are the better team. But to beat our chests like the Bills are world beaters is absurd. I'll get hype when the Bills, who have all the capability in the world to win a SB, and have now for three straight seasons, actually do it and not completely collapse against KC in the playoffs. @Mark Vader Edited October 17, 2022 by BIGFOOTspaceman Quote

It is true that the pass pro held up well - good job OL, but KC had abandoned sending a 5th rusher to put more men in coverage as Allen was burning their blitz. And that was still an amazing throw in a tight window. I have heard enough former QBs comment on it to know it was likely not a pedestrian feat. Quote

st pete gogolak Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Nobody wants to rehash the end of last year's playoff game, but the 62 yard Butker FG (which would have been good from at least 67 yards out) shows that coaching hasn't caught up with what modern NFL kickers are capable of. If your kickoff is a touchback with no time off the clock, you start at the 25 and need - what? - 30 yards? - to be in legitimate FG range. That's true for a whole bunch of kickers, Butker, Tucker, Bass and a lot more. Is it a gimme? No, but it is makeable. 30 yards with timeouts and 13 seconds left? Very doable. 30 seconds left? An eternity. If you're protecting a 1, 2 or 3 point lead in the last minute of a game, you just can't play soft, prevent defense. Today's kickers are jut too good. We might be 6 - 0 if we had called a running play in Miami on the play Quessenberry was called for the hold. A couple of yards and Bass is attempting a 50 something yard FG. These days, that is makeable. 1 Quote

I think the argument can be made that the Bills made some unforced errors on offense in the first half. They could’ve easily scored more pts and it was mostly their fault for not doing so. The argument can be made that the defense played an A game but the Offense played a B game for them. 1 Quote

There are posters on here who constantly complain about the Bills being garbage, and then when the Bills do something positive, those posters disappear. We saw it yesterday on this board in the gameday threads. I wasn't thrilled with everything the Bills did yesterday. I thought the shovel pass to McKenzie was a terrible call. I thought the squib kick was the wrong thing to do, and then playing prevent was worse. And I did not agree with the Bills going for it on 4th & 3 at mid-field. The thing is that I don't just constantly complain about the Bills for 90-95% of the game. I see the good in this team, and I acknowledge it. 1 Quote

Do the Bills pick up that tab for the 15 hour drive service, then driver likely stays around and drives the same way back. that would be a pretty big Tab. Seeing it is travel for the game do the Bills pick up that tab like they do on the charter flights? It’s two drivers. The DOT won’t let one driver make that entire trip, they’ll have to switch. The Bills likely have a contract with a charter company already. It’s just a matter of the charter company having an available vehicle or the Bills renting a van for 3-4 days. Actually not that crazy. 1 1 Quote
