I’ve been watching Zappe the last couple of weeks and have been very impressed.

(Try not to laugh) but I see a bit of very early Brady in him. Not the goat Brady - the Brady that was more of a game manager in 2001.  Patient, calm in the pocket, smart decisions.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Mac doesn’t hit the starting rotation again. He is 19/27 for 256 yards and 2 TD’s today.

Same here and after yesterday this is beginning to look a lot like Brady again and as impressive as Mac Jones was last year this kid looks even more magical in some ways so far.

Belichik is going to have a very tough decision to make whenever Jones is healthy but bigger picture is just like last year after a 1-3 start,  the Pats are rolling right now with a lot of winnable games left on the rest of their schedule.  Very good chance they will be 8-3 heading into the TNF game against Buffalo in early Dec. An overall outside of the 2 games against the Bills they could run the table.

Browns also have a top 10 defense right now btw...

Not really, unfortunately. My dad's a big Browns fan and he goes on forever about how the Browns defensive scheme this year is atrocious and it's not using any of the talent they've got.

Actually really, it is kind of surprising. But see for yourself.

LOL, Browns are 31st in DVOA. 26th in yards allowed and 30th in points allowed. They are 29th in pts/gm.

Your link and what your looking at is solely passing stats AND it is not SORTED. The browns are top 10 at the number of passes attempted against them while being among the very worst at the yards they allow per pass attempt (7.2 / 26th). Math might be hard, but if you allow more yards per pass and more points than other teams then you will allow fewer passes against you as teams are getting to the end zone in fewer plays.

Exactly. They've got insane talent (Greedy Williams, Denzel Ward, etc.) but they're forcing them into a zone scheme when they're excellent man corners. Did you guys see how the Pats receivers wandered wide open? The Browns DBs didn't know where to go.

You have made such valid points about how great our divisional opponents have become.  They are so good that they may all run the table as you suggest.  Even when they play each other maybe both teams will come away with wins.

Even more magical than Mac Jones?  Wow.  It reminds me of Job Bluth vs. Tony Wonder.

Beginning to look a lot like Brady🤦‍♂️ after two games against weak defenses. Soon the film on him will bring his demise. The best thing is how crushed the Pats fans will be LOL, it will be glorious 🤪

Bellicheat is a genius!

He should sign and start a different QB every 3 games to prevent teams from getting film on them.

It's Edwards/Losman.  Nothing magical about either QB.

The first does not rule out the second. He already pronounced Tua elite on the basis of one quarter against the Ravens. In conclusion, he's very sorry to inform everyone that all the Bills' opponents are filled with future HOF players and he greatly fears the next Bills' game is likely to result in bad things for the team from Western NY.

This always happens. A new qb comes in and plays well, and people start paying attention. Then after 4 or 5 weeks, teams start to figure that qb out and the 15 minutes of fame dies and that qb comes back down to earth and starts sucking. There's always that chance that zappe could be good, but let's give it some time. Let's see what happens when they play some good teams. They played gb, the Browns and have the bears next Monday night. Let's see what happens when they play the bills or kc etc.

It could very well be in the long run but given Belichik's track record with QB's and how good Mac Jones was as a rookie it's a bit early to make any final determinations.

Back to Zappe though, this kid is very gritty and showed well in that offense. Was hoping the Pats would finally be dead and buried this year but they are determined to be a factor yet again in the AFC East and conference race.
