Need to start pumping this thread again. It’s obvious the Bills aren’t going to trade for DHop. So we need to make sure they know we mean business. I think if we get both threads to 200 before the draft they will have to either trade for one, pick one up as a FA or take nothing but WRs in every round of the draft. One of them has to work out.

Jinx? They were 6-0 last year before the Cincy playoff game in games Romo and Nantz called.

They won the games, but every time Romo would say something good about the Bills, something awful would happen.  He even mentioned it himself a couple of times during the broadcast.  I just wanted him to shut up!  LOL!

Well then he's not playing NFL Football this year. No one's coming close to that price. Mecole Hardman just signed for 6.2. OBJ isn't even getting 10.

If he wants his big contract, he's going to have to sign for the best deal he'll get this season on a one year deal, prove he's worth it, and then try again.

Bet he's waiting for after the Draft and hoping a team that's desperate will up their price. But $15m? Never going to happen.

The most I'd offer him is 2 years at 9 million per.    That's more than fair for someone who has torn their ACL twice recently

If it’s 100 percent guaranteed he should take that … otherwise it’s a one year deal right ?

I wouldn't pay that and I doubt Beane will either. 6.5 base on a 1 year deal. Add a voidable year of funny money that you can use to bump up his signing bonus on the 1 year deal. Bringing it close to 8 million between base and bonuses.

Take it or leave it. From the sounds of it, that's a lot better than he's being offered and might be the best he's going to get on a prove it deal. Which if he wants anywhere near what he's asking is what he's going to have to do. Prove it with us this year, cash in next year.

$15M per year on a long-term deal.  If Beane signed him to that I'd make him pee in a cup.

OBJ has said he would like to play for a contender and find a place that could serve as “home,” meaning he’d like a long-term deal. The Bills, Giants, Jets and Chiefs are among the teams that could still be interested in the firmer Pro Bowler.

No one's going to pay him $15m. I'm not sure if that's accurate or a case of someone spitballing what they think it is. But when it comes down to it, he's going to have two options.

a.) He takes the best offer he's given. Which is most likely going to be a 1 year prove it deal so he can try and get closer to what he wants next season.

b.) He doesn't play Football this season. Which, if he doesn't, he'll probably never play again. Because at his age, coming off the injury he had, and being 2 years removed from the game - his price will go down further, if anyone wants to sign him.

I still say offer him 6-7 with incentives to earn more and a voidable year added on to boost his signing bonus or keep him if he proves that worth this season.

He's not going to sign for that now, if his asking price is nowhere near that. But when push comes to shove and he realizes what his options are - it probably will be the best he's going to get.

I'm not a big fan of OBJ and less so after his 2nd ACL.  If he does come down to a 1-year deal, it will most likely be for more than Beane would pay.

Some team with cash will pay.

If anyone was coming close to what he's asking, even on a 1 year deal, he'd have signed by now. I'd be shocked if anyone offers him more than what I suggested when push comes to shove.

I feel you may be right. Beane and Von have likely reached out and said, take what you can get, but if the offers aren’t there when things are done, our offer is still on the table and this is what it is. Take it or leave it.

I feel like after the draft, things may get tougher for him to find a team he really wants to go to.

Exactly. I feel everyone's made their offer to him and none are to his liking, which is why he hasn't signed anywhere yet. Eventually when push comes to shove, he'll realize this just is what his market is and take one of them.

I'd be surprised if one of those offers isn't ours. But if we take one in Round 1 or 2 (which is a decent possibility) after signing Harty and Sherfield, that offer is probably coming off the table.
