Some people and their Hate-r-aid.

We get it, you hate Beas. Dude is living rent free in your dome. Please move on. Or let him move out.

Now Kyrie hate 🤣

Me thinks I’m detecting a trend

Yeah not a fan of guys who put themselves before the team and are distractions.  For instance Diggs has had some diva moments before here but he has been nothing but a team guy since he has been here.

OBJ loves attention. Kyrie thinks he’s smarter than everyone and some free thinker because he went to Duke for half of a semester. Ego is what makes these guys great but I don’t think anyone can’t look at both of their careers and think how much better they could have been if they were more team first guys. No questions their talent (though I think OBJ has fallen off considerably because of the injuries).

Maybe with a week of practice, John Brown can show he's able to still be impactful.

Hopefully Crowder can get back on the field in the next 4 weeks.

Also, would be in favor of Beasley

Unfortunately, for whatever reasons....the Bills don't seem to care about Shakir.

Did the guy do something wrong and end up in the doghouse?

It makes no sense to me. I was very excited about him after his performance against the Steelers.  Since then, they just never throw to him

Shakir has the burden of being one of this regime's draft picks.

They seem to be allergic to actually playing their draft picks

Unless Beane is trying to sign OBJ at a discount for next year(s), I think I’m pretty much at my end of the line re: OBJ after those comments.

Im sure he could help us in the playoffs, IF he’s even healthy enough to do that.   However, I’m not sure I love putting Allen is the position where he’s throwing his first live action pass to OBJ in the WC or Div around.

I always thought it made sense if he could ramp up against, say, Cinci and NE … but if he’s above that or incapable of that .. eh… not ideal.

Don't want to lose you SC.  It may not be ideal.  But lets remember the positives:

     Great addition for the playoffs

Would add difficulty to opposing DCs game plans

Strengthens the 2023 WR core immensely

Adds flexibility to Beane maneuvering - the possibility of moving G Davis for a 2nd

Helps change offensive philosophy to a max scoring shoot out style- fun to watch

The possibility for all this at a reasonable Beaner price of say $8-10M.  I'm in.  And don't forget the circus dies dramatically after he signs- just like it did in LA.

Tuafish + Hill = HUGE

17 + 14 = HUGE

17 + 14 + OJB = HUGER, maybe.

I trust Beane to make the right choice OBJ--health, skill, cost, timeframe.

Can anyone imagine JA17 without 14 now?

That's what swinging for top quality WR's can do.

I really hope the ship has sailed in terms of the Bills singing this guy.

The diva WR thing just doesn't do it for me and still think he may never be the same guy again anyway which is why he's still on the street to begin with.

Might have to do with his 50% catch rate. Got to catch the ones that are thrown to you. Would love to see him more involved though and I THINK it might begin soon. Seems like Josh is looking more at the shorter routes now, so I hope Shakir gets more opportunities now. We will need it.

I guess I'm now in the minority on this but I would still welcome OBJ here even if he doesn't contribute meaningfully until the playoffs. I'm just not all that comfortable with Gabe Davis as the automatic #2 WR. With Miller and Hyde both going down for the season and the other injuries that impact our defense seemingly every week, our offense is going to need to pick up the slack a bit. I'm not expecting OBJ to be a superstar here, but I think he can be a difference maker in games that matter. Sign me up for that.

Davis definitely needs to step up for our offense to get back to an elite level. I’m also not sure he can do it but I’m not comfortable with OBJ coming in with no regular season snaps and being thrown the ball in playoff games. It just does not seem like it would yield great results with very little timing and practice. Plus, is he even physically ready to play at a playoff level. I would almost rather have Beasley return in the slot just because of his knowledge of offense and experience with Josh. If not let’s just hope Shakir and McKenzie can do the job. I trust Beane will do the right thing whatever that may be.

I'm caught up on this thread and seeing what OBJ's expected timeline for return is, nothing has changed with me.

I can't see signing any player until I see that he can work out to a satisfactory level.

If he expects to be ready for the playoffs, he should be able to work out a few weeks earlier.  So come back to town

and show us when that happens.  If he is too fragile to do that before the end of the month, he's not worth it for this year, IMO.

The ball has been in his court this whole time on his recovery, it's not the other way around.

I'm not sure this isn't all just a reaction to all the negative spin of him not being able necessarily contribute much during the regular season. Honestly if it takes the rest of the regular season for him to get up to speed but then he's able to turn it on in the playoffs I really wouldn't care.

Why workout so he can accidently mess up his knee before he's getting paid? I mean I personally am ok with listening to team doctors training staff etc... if everything were to check out I would sign him obviously try to get him on a team friendly deal not to many guarantees etc...

He doesn't have to.  Same goes for the teams.  Do they have to sign him because he says he will be ready?  It's a "buyer beware" situation.

As to the contract terms, I see it the other way around.  The amount he wants goes down every day he can't perform.  How could it go up?

But that's the thing it's not just his word he had a physical if the deem him fit and in the right stage in recovery/rehab the bills have the luxury of waiting for him until the playoffs and on a smaller scale the cowboys do as well. The giants are done this weekend if they lose which most likely they will to the eagles. And I think if they can do an incentive laiden contract which pays him his 12 to 15 mil that doesn't hurt our cap and make the contract look bigger than it actual is then what's the harm? He blows out his knee in the playoffs or super bowl he only gets x salary etc... but to not want a 80 to 90% Beckham is just dumb. You do what you can to add everything you can to win at the end of the year and next year and the year after, the cap will take care of itself with beane watching it and knowing what he can and can't do.

I highly doubt OBJ is willing to sign that contract.

As to a doctor's examination telling how well a player returning from an ACL will play, I don't know if that is possible.

You are speculating that OBJ will be somewhere between 80-90% with his play, but I see no evidence YET that he can.

I guess if you were a GM you'd do a deal, I on the other hand wouldn't until I seen he can play this year.

And that is perfectly fine everyone is allowed to have their own opinions on the subject and I respect yours but this offense needs a number 2/3 receiver. hey they don't get OBJ fine go try to get Beasley out of retirement and sign him for the playoffs knows the system etc... but they need that one more piece that allows get open underneath because teams right now are stopping the big plays against us with 2 deep safties and yes David has had trouble with drops this year but look at how open he was with that underneath guy.  In this offense it won't matter who the underneath guy is if you can get that piece because they are constantly moving guys around from outside to inside so one play it could be diggs in the slot and davis or OBJ on the outside it's all about creating mismatches

Why because I would manipulate the cap and try to get the best players here for us just like BBB is doing?
