I remember when our offensive line couldn't protect our QB for more than 2 seconds.... I remember when we were trying to find a burner so we could take a deep shot maybe once a game... I remember when we couldn't get pressure with our front 4... I remember when big named FA's didn't want to come to Buffalo.... I remember when we looked ahead at our schedule and hoped to get over .500... I remember when no one picked us to win anything... I remember when the Wild Card was our wildest dream... I remember looking at other team's quarterbacks and hoping for a fraction of their production... I remember when the Division was a pipe dream... I remember when we drafted in the top 10 and hoped that half of our picks would pan out... I remember when our Punter was our best player... I remember when we couldn't get a Prime Time game... I remember when no one picked us to win... I remember when Billy Joe Hobert played quarterback for us and didn't know the playbook... I remember when we couldn't hold onto a coach for more than 3 years... I remember when we started 5-2 multiple times and didn't make the playoffs... I remember when 7-9 was our defining point for a good season... I remember when we had a QB that could not line up over center I remember when our QB threw 5 int in the first half I remember when we had a hall of fame WR without a good QB I remember when we blew teams in the first half then lost game after game in the second half I remember when we could not sell out games I remember when we could not say we had more than 3 good players on the team I remember when could not get to the QB with our front 4 I remember when we hired defensive coach that screwed our defense I remember when our QB would give little effort to gain one yard. I remember being the laughingstock of the NFL Seriously I could just say "I remember when we sucked" and this feels so damn good.!!!! go bills! Quote
Dr. Who Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 I remember standing up for show-and-tell in 1971 with a cut out picture from the Buffalo News week eleven game in late November after the Bills beat the hated Patriots 27 - 20 to secure the lone victory for that season. Dennis Shaw was the qb. JD Hill caught two td passes. OJ was still the golden boy and he ran for a td. John Leypoldt kicked two field goals and the extra points. I was so happy the way a kid is happy, blissfully unaware of decades of future agony. All the same, I wouldn't trade places to root for any other team, and now a genuine chance for a ring is on the horizon. Quote

RangerDave Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 I remember when October/November would hit and I would start thinking, "Well, it's on to Sabres season now. Nothing to see with the Bills anymore." 1 Quote
