not even a little.

and I’d add that if diggs goes down i feel a lot less confident about having a guy that could share the load of carrying the offense with Josh. It’s not an insignificant consideration.

Imo we have two stars on offense. If we drop to 1, we are not gonna like the result

2023: 19.5m

2024: 19.5m

2025: 15.5m

The tweet is showing the cash not the cap hits.

If I'm the Chiefs I'm calling for DJ moore

I’d call for him and CMC for the Bills.  Also, any good O lineman there?   They owe us for Benjamin.

Just curious .... would anybody do James Cook for Christian McCaffrey straight up?

If I'm the Panthers, I would take that deal. Cheap contract and similar skill set, with upside.

I've watched every Panthers game this year and McCaffrey is a significantly better player right now, but he's got a lot of mileage and is expensive.

If I'm the Bills, I would take that deal as well.

Moore is the play from Carolina.

I suspect he’ll return more than McCaffrey.  And McCaffrey might be the long term play at slot for us were we to make the more. (I know CMC is an RB, but his long term play probably is a slot.)

Just heard this on Charlotte radio also.

There is NO WAY we can take on that contract. Does he agree to redo the contract??? Doubt it.

You put him in this O and we are unstoppable but I don’t see it happening and hope I’m wrong.

OMG yes that is exactly what this team is in need of but i wouldn't put anything past Beane the dude is genius when it comes to this stuff & given where McCaffrey is and what the team is like i'm sure he may do a little wheeling dealing with his contract to be on a SB contender like the Bills .

Especially seeing as they just canned their coach so that means they will be in limbo the rest of this year until they can get some stability & he ain't getting no younger .

I hope they make a deal to take Moss down there & maybe someone that they don't use a lot like Hodgins if they aren't going to use him that might sweeten the deal a bit . The Bills have some good players to dangle in front of the Panthers to make this work & we have the Magic Beane on our team !!

The Bills would only be on the hook for his base salary and the workout bonuses in years he remained on the roster.  The Panthers would eat the rest,  which amounts to any bonuses they have previously paid him,  inclusive of amounts yet to be amortized.  Their numbers are accurate.

The Tweet shows our cap hit if we traded for him since the other cap hit includes bonus $ paid by Carolina.

You can't be serious.

Trading a 2nd Round pick with all the tread left on the tires after only 5 games in the league and could develop into a great RB for a guy with an absolutely INSANE injury history, almost completely worn tires, and will decline quickly?

Absolute insanity.

Adam Caplan stated we had strong interest in him in the offseason but he "wasn't available"

Ryan Talbot also confirmed this today.

Call me crazy if you want....I'd be willing to part with a 1st + 2024 4th + Moss to outbid other interested teams.

No one will care in April that we don't have a 1st if it's pick # 32......

Do you realize he hasn’t finished a season in maybe 3 years running

Do agree with one thing you said, you are crazy!

Eliminate the 1st round pick part and then OK with it.  Maybe instead of Moss I'd offer Cook as on cheap contract for longer period of time and more a CMC clone so don't need two if them

Recall how when the Bills signed Von Miller, not a word was mentioned in the press before it happened.  There were articles about how that's the way Beane operates.

Makes me very suspicious about this whole thing having any truth to it.

I thought that on a trade that the trading team is only on the hook for bonuses already paid, not future bonuses. I cant seem to find much clear info on this.  In any case, I still wouldnt want a 12m per year RB.  This team has other players it needs to pay and has no room already.

After this year with basically no cap hit, he's on a 3 year $36 million contract with 0 GTD $$.

There's so much funny math you can do with a contract with zero GTD money.

The cap isn't real.

The cap is real enough that they havent paid Poyer and there is no way this team is going to be able to keep all 3 of Gabe Davis, Edwards, and Oliver.  It may not seem real because teams kick the can down the road all the time.  That eventually catches up to them.
