Special K Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Knew that was coming....it was just a matter of when. 1 Quote
Blank Stare Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 He was a disaster. Was only a matter of time. Quote
Warcodered Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 7 years was too long a contract anyway. 2 4 Quote
GunnerBill Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Surprised it came this early. I was told by someone in the know to expect the Panthers to chase a big name when the inevitable Rhule firing came. Watch Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh. 1 Quote
BBills_88 Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Back to college, another Chip Kelly. 1 Quote
Livinginthepast Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 You could see that coming from the first press conference with this guy. His team could see through his BS pretty early . Quote
billsfan1959 Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 First Rhule of thumb: if you can't score points in this league, you are not going to win many games... 1 3 Quote
Back2Buff Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Their owner was dumb with the contract and caused a ripple effect. Now he gets burned. Would like to think other owners are laughing. 1 Quote
mrags Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 5 games in with new QB is definitely early. But the fact is he would be gone anyway. So maybe they have someone on staff they believe may be in the running and want to get a closer look. Rhule was def garbage though. Quote
billieve420 Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 (edited) Skip Bayless will have convenient scapegoat to deflect blame from his precious Baker. I find it entertaining they can have a segment on Baker weekly where Skip regurgitates the same facts over and over again. He actually mentioned not being sold on Josh but believes in Baker and that he actually said it this year right around when the season opened makes it all the more laughable. Big Turk Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Dude was a disaster. But at least he gets a big payday with his buyout/whatever is left on his contract. Greg S Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 No surprise. Everybody saw this one coming. Quote
Big Turk Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Have there been any recent coaching hires from College that have had success in the NFL? They all seem to be terrible...even the best college coach ever in Nick Saban couldn't hack it. Quote
without a drought Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Does this mean the Bills have to hire him now? Or can he go straight to the Giants? 1 4 Quote
Bruffalo Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Should have happened last season, he's a mess. Quote
boyst Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 The panthers were interested in firing him last year, per folks i know. They did not fire him at the end of the year for many reasons - but from what I understood - they did not have a plan of succession. Rhule wanted to be fired in Dec. last year to go get a college gig. they moved now to get the guy off their pocketbooks and now have a plan to finish the season. they already have a list and hoping to get a defensive target but i haven't heard a name. from what i heard Rhule wants to take a year off at this point and eager to get back to college. 1 Quote
Beck Water Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 (edited) 30 minutes ago, Draconator said: What a Surprise. I'm kinda torn between pity for Baker Mayfield - 5 years in the league, and the only year he got to spend a second season with the same coach and OC he was injured - and the feeling he's been "hoist by his own petard" in lobbying for Kitchens as both OC and head coach his 2nd season. 21 minutes ago, Boyst62 said: they moved now to get the guy off their pocketbooks and now have a plan to finish the season. they already have a list and hoping to get a defensive target but i haven't heard a name. So what is this plan to finish the season? One would hope a team wouldn't fire a guy in early October without it. By the way, Rhule is apparently far from "off the books". They'll be paying him for 3+ years, apparently. Shades of Wrecks Ryan. Edited October 10, 2022 by Beck Water 1 Quote
