Epenesa is second player in 2 weeks ejected for contact with referee John Hussey

Definitely no suspension and I doubt even a fine. 

Out of control power trip and ego on Refs part.  He is supposed to calm things down and be a non-factor, not interject himself into the game.  To have the other refs have to come in and put distance between Hussey and Epenesa should be enough to have Hussey fined or released of his duty.

My information-free WAG is this. AJ spun around and said something like "Get your fuc#ing hands off me". Perhaps he wasn't contrite enough/quickly once he saw it was the ref

Ever notice that Hussey has a "nah nah" type delivery when calling out the penalties?

 

I can't think of a way for it to come across in text, but it's unique.

Ref is a tool. The fact another ref had to "hold him back" from going after Epenesa tells me everything I need to know about this power-tripping little weasel.

 

AJ never touched him. Ref got his feelings hurt by whatever AJ said to him, and tossed him.

 

Pathetic.

We don’t know exactly what happened, but it makes me think of a sign you see where my mom is in a skilled nursing facility. The sign says something like “be sure to make eye contact and speak to patients before touching them”. 

 

The football version is “don’t walk into a wild scrum and touch someone from behind unless you want trouble”. That goes for refs too. I don’t know if AJ knew who it was, or what he said, but if this guy DQ’ed a player in consecutive weeks, maybe he needs to look in the mirror. How many refs managed not to eject somebody over the last couple weeks? Yeah, pretty much all of them.

When my mother was in assisted living/memory care I never saw those signs posted. But they sound like a good ideal. I once saw something on my mother's face and moved my hand toward her face to remove it. She reacted as though she was afraid I was going to hit her. I was a bit shocked, and dismayed. Was someone there hitting my mother??? I realized later it was probably just her being confused and not ready to be touched at that time. I sure hope that was it.
