At the time it was a bit controversial. Ragland, who never played a regular season down for the Bills due to an injury as a rookie, was drafted for Rex Ryan's D, then McDermott came in and he didn't fit the defensive scheme. The Bills quickly realized that he wasn't worth much to them & were lucky to get a 4th in the 2019 draft. They used the pick wisely, packaging that pick and their own 4th to move up & draft Dawson Knox in the 3rd round of the 2019 draft. Quote
