Apparently Chase Claypool is available. Packers and Giants said to be interested. 
What's your take on him?  He's had some issues.
When he's on, very good player.  Would he be a fit here with Chad Hall and Diggs coaching him up?

From what I’ve seen of Claypool, he has all the physical gifts in the world, but bad things happen when he’s targeted, sort of like a much bigger McKenzie. I’d pass. If I was the Packers I’d pass too.

I am torn on him.  He sometimes dominates.  He sometimes plays like dirty did against the Chiefs.   Maybe it's being in a crap offense.  He would be a great red zone target for us.  

 

I feel like I'd want to improve elsewhere first but I would not dislike snagging him by any means.

for a 7th rounder, sure.  Not much more.  Like others have said: sometimes he is on, other times he is just way off.  Not sure if Hall could get more consistently good play over him, or not.  He's also a bit of a headcase.  Steeler fans down here would LOVE to see him go, for what it's worth--although most Steeler fans are over reactionary.

I'll pass. I know what he ran at the combine at his size but he doesn't play at that speed. The Bills look for guys who can separate from DB's and can get YAC this year and he isn't that guy.

The Bills are set at WR and taking on a prima dona WR would push out one of the young guys, or Kumerow after he heals. 

 

The Packers could definitely use him much more than the Bills need him.

Gabe has more game speed, better route running, is more physical and has better hands than Claypool.  

 

Claypool is more of a possession receiver that can get vertical on jump balls.

He would be a great reclamation project for a team with a strong culture and good QB play.  I don't think we have cap room for him even though hes cheap.

Gabe is a better route running thats for sure.    I think thats where the game speed probably comes in, but Claypool is a better athlete in my opinion.

 

What I really meant is that I think the role Claypool would play in this offense is boundary wide receiver, and we already have a larger boundary player in Gabe Davis.  If we are looking to trade or sign a wideout, I'd think we'd like someone who can play the slot for the majority of the time they spend on the field.

Loved Claypool at Notre Dame. I wanted us to draft him that year something bad. He's 6'5", 240lbs, with 4.4 speed. At ND he had excellent hands, excellent body control, and was a solid route runner for a guy his size. He wasn't just a "Go Route" WR. He's had a solid start to his career getting 800+ yards per season on 14+ yards per reception. This year has been down, but look at their QB situation. One thing I have noticed about Claypool on the field, an area I knew needed to and thought he would improve, that has been lacking is his understanding of defenses and his route adjustments according to. There are times where he could flatten off a route, use that big body, and make a play. Instead he rounds it off and allows the DB to undercut. Another thing, his personality has changed. At ND he seemed like a humble kid. Now he's out here running his mouth, getting into post club night fights, and doing things that cost his team like stalling to celebrate after making a catch for a 1st late in a game. I'd take him for a late rounder, but I don't think he really would fit the culture around here unless he humbled himself.

It would be interesting to see Davis and Claypool on the outside with Diggs in the slot.

 

I question whether Claypool can get separation consistently and if he's a high character guy. Divas won't fit in well in this locker room.
