TheBrownBear Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Trubisky is horrible. No thanks. I prefer Keenum based on his career body of work. And I agree with the poster who said Gardner Minshew. The guy isn't good enough to build a team around, but he's proven to be a very capable NFL QB when given opportunities. 1 Quote

Buffalo_Stampede Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Trubisky watch sounds boring, I’ll pass. Quote

At the time I think the general consensus was that the Bears were idiots for trading up. Why move from #3 to #2 for a QB that wasn't viewed as generational ? In hindsight.... holy cow. Has to be on a very short list of worst GM decisions ever. Trading UP for Trubisky when you could've stayed pat (or even moved down a few slots) and selected Mahomes or Watson 1 Quote

Mark Twain was touring Europe and attended a Richard Wagner opera. Afterwards he was asked how he liked Wagner's music and he said it's a lot better than it sounds. Same concept about Trubisky. 1 Quote
Rocky Landing Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Interesting that we're having a heated debate about who the backup QB will be next year. Personally, I'm crossing my fingers for Davis Webb. Quote
BuffBillsForLife Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Keenum is better, imo. I expect Allen to lobby hard to get his BFF Darnold here to be the backup next season. Quote

Florida Bills Fanatic Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Mitch was playing behind a pathetic o-line. The result was easily predictable. Pickett will be taking some significant hits and is likely to miss some games. We'll see how bad the o-line is this week. 1 1 Quote
Rc2catch Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Mitch and Darnold in a tables match next offseason. Winner gets the backup job to try and rebuild their value. 6 minutes ago, Florida Bills Fanatic said: Mitch was playing behind a pathetic o-line. The result was easily predictable. But he’s taking the heat from Pittsburgh and there’s much bigger issues there than just poor quarterback play over there. 1 1 Quote

Dude has a great attitude and has shown in limited action he can play. Feel he has been in positions the other guy was the guy, and hasn’t gotten the chance. Quote

Can't say I disagree...he has thrown for nearly 6K yards in 3 years and has a 93.9 QB Rating with 41 TDs and 12 INTs, which is much higher than most backup caliber QBs have when playing that much. 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 He left because he was hoping to start elsewhere and get paid a starter's salary. I'd be happy with him at some point if he becomes content with a backup role and salary. Quote

He knew he was going to be benched for the tentative short yardage dumpoffs. An interception reaches the same result, but you have to try. One can't go with a whimper, air it ouit. Because when you air it out and miss, you get pushed out of the league. If you protect the football, some coach will look at you and think you can be a backup or spot starter. See: Tyrod Taylor. He did the exact same thing when faced with the prospect of losing his job and he's turned it into a career that's much longer than it probably should be based on results. Quote

I think Keenums contract is up after this year, so the bills will be in the market again for a backjup. Mitch works for me for the right monehy. 1 Quote
