Brand J Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Get him outta there until he’s 100%. I’d rather have a fully healthy Shakir, Austin, or Hodges taking those reps than a hobbled Gabe. 15 6 1 Quote
Augie Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Live with the trainers, as Josh said he was doing. We knew this was a danger at a shallow position, but it’s far from over. Joe Ferguson Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Davis is hurting this team. He's beginning to be a selfish jerk for insisting to play and not let the up and coming receivers play. Is he afraid to lose his job? 7 7 1 4 1 7 3 Quote
CEN-CAL17 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 It hurts Kumerow is out or Gabe could sit…. But it’s tough to roll out there with Diggs, McKenzie, Shakir and Austin? Hodges? Gabe is more a distraction other teams have to account for…. People notice he isn’t hardly targeted right? 2 Quote
Matt_In_NH Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Hopefully they perform a hands transplant stat! Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 We could see it in the practice videos. It’s likely a pain tolerance thing but he has no explosion. Let him rest. Give Hodgins a game. 1 1 Quote

Just because Josh hasn't gone deep as much as last season isnt necessarily indicating his injury is the reason. It likely is but there are other factors. Biggest one being new OC with his own ideas on play design and play calls. Second could simply be the defense we are facing, the gameplan, etc. Im sure his ankle plays a part of it. Nothing anyone can do about it. It will heal when it heals. 1 Quote
Einstein Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Gabe has had no troubling getting open from what i’ve seen. His trouble has been catching the ball. Are his ankles connected to his hands somehow? 1 2 1 1 2 1 Quote

Yep…McBeane took a chance and it’s biting them now. Davis or Diggs getting hurt was always gonna hurt this team about as much as anything outside of Allen getting hurt. Our identity is as a passing team and I don’t think we did enough at receiver or oline. But…we sure did bolster that defense, huh? 1 1 Quote

Einstein Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Wow that would have been a huge play if Josh saw him. 3 Quote

We dont even know how Shakir will do because as much as I love this staff they do not like to play rookies unless they are forced to. They wouldnt even play Gabe when it was clear he was a good receiver. Quote
bigK14094 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I think we will see Tavon Austin. He looked pretty good in his few snaps in preseason. As for Hodgkins, Pittsburg might be a good place to try him a little. I agree, sit Davis...no explosion off that ankle. Quote

Are his ankles connected to his hands somehow? You can tell he is lacking his burst and his cuts arent that great. However, I do agree. He did get open. He did get targeted on the money. The ball went right through his hands. That wasnt from his ankle. Even happened to Diggs though. Probably rain had something to do with that. Quote

Yeah I mean whether or not he is lacking explosiveness, he is getting open. The guy is just dropping everything. 1 Quote
947 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Josh hasn't gone deep as much because 25% of his games were in the pouring rain, and another 25% were played in a sauna with receivers & O-linemen dropping like flies. This will correct itself. 2 1 Quote
