It woulda been fun to see what araiza could've done, but Martin is good. It's been so long since we've seen good punting from this team, I'm almost forgot what it was like

That is a name I will be happy if I never hear it again, he will be a bad Bills trivia answer.

The guy has simply been a pro's pro - coming in during the aftermath of a terrible situation, no training camp or very much time to get familiar with the team and the other specialists.  And then just being lights out so far in his limited opportunities.  Couldn't have asked for more

Can we take a moment to appreciate the performance of Sam Martin. Guy took an ugly situation and has turned it into a significant upgrade.

Not only his performance in punting teams inside the 20 but also the enthusiasm he brings is great to see. Every time I hear a commentator mention his end over end punt style I take a drink.

Excellent addition and lucky timing with the cut. Being a Chamionship contender allows you to be on the top of the list for veterans like this.

I thought our punting situation was going to be a nightmare after what happened, but Martin has come in and made our punting game stellar. Not that we do it much, but when we do, we can't count on a good outcome.

I actually prefer Martin to that person that shall not be named because Martin is known for his ability to pin the opponent deep, where the other dude really just had a monster leg.

If he had enough punts to qualify his average would be 26th best in the league(44.6) but his net punt average would be good enough for 5th(Also 44.6). He hasn't allowed a single yard in returns and he's placed 4 of his 7 punts inside the 20. Showing there's more than one way to be a successful punter in the NFL.

This isn't worth a new thread, so I'll just put it here:

Almost a month after his release, Matt Araiza still hasn't been served with any criminal charges.

I am NOT saying he's innocent, but what a sad story if he was ... and we all forgot about him immediately.

He's got that stank on him now but if the civil case finds him not guilty am sure a NFL team will call him to at least try out for a job in the future or maybe even sign him to a practice squad.

Who’s Sam Martin??

Some guy who flashes once or twice a game, but the coaches clearly don't trust him enough to consistently see the field.  Probable cut candidate to make room for OBJ later.

I'm curious as to how his punting will be when the weather turns bad, but as of now I'm very happy with his play.

Maybe he becomes a fit for next year.

When the weather turns bad, like when the rain was falling sideways yesterday?

Punt average is meaningless because in an offense like the Bills you don't have many opportunities to punt long like you would for a terrible offense like the Texans or Patriots.

You nailed it with not allowing returns and pinning opponents. Nevermind the end over end muffs.
